Pictures That Do Aviation No Favors....

So I was looking for something specific and randomly came across a picture that, while I am sure the fellow is perfectly nice and is an earnest pilot cadet..... well the picture just doesn't do aviation any favors:

It just makes you think: Gee pilots are dorks! (which obviously they are, just look at this site!   ) But of course aviation doesn't ever show that side of itself. Pilots are cool, DASHING, Respected!

Until you look at that picture.... (go ahead, say it in your head while looking at the picture... "pilots are cool, dashing.... " If this doesn't make you smile not much will.   )

It got me to thinking what other photos must be out, there must be many, many others so I am hoping you will share.

A pic that does Aviation no favors but ALSO makes you look cool and dashing???

In regards to the OP.... I wouldn't trust that guy in the photo with my kid let alone an airplane... First thought was "Frankenstein's Monster"...  Smile

He isn't a pilot. He's a CAP Cadet, probably about 14, 15 years old.

Ahh, fair enough, now it makes me feel a little better.

But it STILL does not do aviation any favor!

In my last squadron we use to do that all the time with the big square windows in the paratroop door.

A bit OT but I love this note:

Here are two pictures, well two planes really, that I think don't do aviation justice.

Sort of but the Stevens Corporation was a 747-100, not a 707.

Airport '77 was the best aviation film ever made!
That movie sparked my interest in aviation at an early age. The first Airport movie (1969) seems to get all the praise but it puts me to sleep every time I attempt to watch it.
My favorite of the 4 movies is Airport 1975 and Airport 1977.
Airport 79 The Concorde is a bit over the top but I still like it.
The satire Airplane movies made me laugh when I was 10 years old but today it just doesn't do anything for me.
