I'm thinking of places to go to for my next vacation. I'm sick of the vacations that you just lay around in the sun. I like places that have a lot of historic and other interesting sites. It would be great if you guys and gals could help me out. Any ideas? Thanks

Definately DC... great place to go to see historic stuff, plus there is just a ton of stuff to do and see. Also worth your time would be a side trip to Charlottesville to see Monticello (definately very interesting) and maybe Williamsburg as well.

Go to Alaska. It's different... Definitely not a lay in the sun type of place. There are a few historic/cultural sites here, as well as great scenery. Plus NW and CO are having fare wars to/from ANC, so to/from NYC area is $323 RT if you can get down there for a decent price.
