No plurals here, fellow A.net memebers. Let's see how many of you can pair all those songs you love down to ONE, and one ONLY! Not so easy, is it?  Smile

My favorite of all time has got to be "The Boxer" by Simon and Garfunkel. It's a sad, gut-wrenching song in many ways, but it's just a very powerful song in my mind. Always has been.

One all time favorite?

Mine would have to be "Luminous Times" from U2. (It's a B-side)

Mine would be Don't Be Afraid by Mya... I was flying home from LAX, and it was only my second time flying... anyway, I was still a little nervous to be flying... ( this was 3 years ago ) I was crying because I really didn't want to leave the beach, and all the fun of California. The girl sitting behind me handed me a tape player, and said you can listen to this if you want... it might make you feel better. So I poped it on, and this song Don't be Afraid was cued up on the tape. The music really went along well with the clouds and everything... to this day, I listen to it everytime I fly

Alpha 1...want to know mine?? It's 'The Sound Of Silence', also by Simon & Garfunkel. And I agreed..'The Boxer' is very powerful. 'El Condor Pasa' has a effect on me as well. That duo has been, and always will be timeless. Regards.

"Stagger Lee" ... Nick Cave version

I'd post the lyrics but this is a family site

Okay, if I would be allowed to name my three favourite songs, I'm sure there would be at least one that everybody knows. But now that I may only name one song, here's my very favourite, and I'm sure nobody of you has heard of that band before (not even most of the German members):

"Tausend Jahre sind ein Tag" by Regenundmild

Hi there,
It is very difficult to name just one.
However the one I am thinking of right now
is "California Dreamin'" by "the Mamas and Papas"
oh, and by the way who sang that song:
"Seems it never rains in southern California"??
There is a mention of a Western Boeing 747!!
Kindest Regards,
Advanced

It is funny that you mention The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel, because 2 days ago I was in a store bathroom on the toilet and it came on the radio. I was enjoying it but right when it got to the climax of the song some guy came in and turned on the hot-air hand dryer and I couldn't hear  Pissed I hate those things. My favorite is probably "the obvious child"-by Paul Simon

Comfortably Numb is a great song, TechRep, but it's almost too damned dark for me-although the guitar riff at the end is classic.
