Before I chose 2707200X as my username I have considered other names like DC-10-30/40 because the DC-10 was my favorite trijet over the L1011, same with the L2000 in this case, VC-10 because it was the most graceful airliners of all time, 747-700X and BOEING_NLA because they where the biggest airliner proposals by Boeing, A330-200, 747-SP, United-Jet, A380X and 777-300ER "plus something" and I almost chose BoeingY3 as I have imagined it as a proposed giant "twinnie" to replace the 777 and 747.
I chose 2707200X because the proposed aircraft envisioned optimism, innovation, ingenuity and it had a uniqueness from it's competitors not to mention it was lot bigger and faster. I was always intrigued from the first time I saw the concept. I added the suffix "X" to identify my self from others with a similar username.
What other names could you have chosen before you chose your current username?

The only other name I considered was STT757, which is my initials and my favorite airplane. That was already taken so I chose TZ757300, which is my favorite variant of the 757 with my favorite livery on it.

The one I have was the first one that came to my mind when time came to sign up here. I wanted to bet away from using the username I had been using which was given to me when I set up my email/login account at the college I was attending at the time, and ShyFlyer was the name I picked.

I actually used my real name. I have one of the most unique names in the land. I used my first and last name, so anyone who knows me in real life would know me on here. But, I could not remember the password, so I ended up with seb146...

Well, this was the one I cam up with, and stuck with it... I thought, I want something that someone that knows what they are talking about will be able to see in their head.... What better than an orange 747?
The 747 will always be the TRUE queen of the skies!

I considered KiwiScot at first, as a Scot now resident in NZ. I thought though that was too bland and not aviation related so I took the IATA codes for my old home city Edinburgh (EDI) and my current residence Christchurch (CHC) and combined them.

Mine was easy dc10 (favourite aircraft) and bhx (where I work).
Other ones that came to mind were CL44 and L1011 (second and third favourite aircraft).
One of my over-whelming memories is watching the CO DC10 take off from BHX en-route to EWR and betting with everyone in the office if she would be up before the piano keys. Most days it was very close!

Same here. I basically gave my choice of username for this website no forethought at all, otherwise I would have chosen something a bit more representative like "BHM-RNO" or the like.
Same here. If I could do it all over again, I'd be PW4090.

Quoting 2707200X (Thread starter): What other names could you have chosen before you chose your current username?
Actually, I didn't really think too much of using other usernames until AFTER I decided to go w/PHLBOS (which is just simply a combination of my current and original home airports, PHL & BOS respectively).
Some alternative usernames for me would've been:
"TransEastern! You'll feel like you've never left the ground because we treat you like dirt!" SNL Parady ad circa 1981

My first encounter with A.net, back in 2000, was in the chat room under the name "EL-AL_B747-258", my favorite airplane. It was too long to register with, so only "EL-AL" staid. If I could change it today, I would change it to 'LYB742'.

I was NoelG, but it wasn't a particularly well thought out username. For a start I didn't want my real name as my username (not very imaginative), and for a second my name changed when I got married so I'm not NoelG any more :-S
So today you are all joined to the grand opening of TCASAlert, named after an unfortunate run-in I had with an A320 when I was blissfully unaware I was flying my C172 through EMA's airspace back in 2002.
