Just wondering - given that I read a statistic somewhere in an article that this is the world's second most watched event (World Cup being the top) and that they expect over a billion people to tune in from over 100 countries - are any of you tuning in to watch the event? In the US its being aired on NBC at 9pm tonight and will take two hours.
Ordinarily I wouldn't really be into this sort of thing, pageantry and all - but my family has this odd thing where we used to watch this event every year and as such its kind of carried on, and I'll definitely be tuning in to watch it. Was just curious to see if this type of thing was actually as popular as they proport it to be...
PS apparently the odds on favorite to take the crown is USA, followed by China then Australia.
My vote goes to Australia, Portugal and Philippines!

It's not shown in Finland, but local tabloid paper told how Miss Finland doesn't get along with her Danish roommate. Miss Denmark watches TV all night and Miss Finland can't sleep, sounds like a Nordic cat fight But good luck for the final girls!

OK, I have to chime in. I really loved the pageant and loved Angola's win! Very deserving. Wish Philippines had placed a bit higher, but 3rd runner up is good.
Just to stir the pot ... Colombia was pictured while touring around Sao Paulo wearing no panties. Also Brazil caused a stir because during her national pageant, the crowd did not approve of her win because she had previously posed for nude pics. Colombia made it to Top 16 while Brazil ended up 2nd runner up.
The journey of life is not based on the accomplishments, but the experience.
