I thought he died 10 years ago and was just a Zombie in a luxury box.

He did a lot at his peak. I thought he was completely off his rocker in the past 15 years. RIP.

Al Davis was a beast of an owner in his prime but he's just sadly been a shadow of that man for sometime now. It's sad to say this now, but the Raiders will be better off without him.

For the first time, and yes,as a Charger fan,I might speak with harsh words in a persons passing. It is very tough to remain neutral, but I believe I can speak for many. I'll do this in two parts.
1) Al Davis should be remembered for his early days in the AFL and the two winning Super Bowls prior to the move to LA.
He recruited players from the NFL and promoted the AFL to respectability. At the time,I was a Rams fan and even liked some teams under John Madden And even his third SB victory does give him the right for entry into the HOF.
For that,I say R.I.P Al Davis
1) But my respect for Davis ended when he moved the team to LA where he felt he owned the town and thought he could get his way by taking tax payer money from Irwindale and bullying his way with the City Of LA.He ruined players careers like Marcus Allen
I also agree with most of you that Davis should have retired long ago.But hey,we Chargers loved it.
Final thought.Booooooo! on Channel 7,at 4, for treating Davis as a super legend to LA and the team should come back. Minority cop out politics at best, clearly directed in that direction.FOX 11 wasn't much better.
The NFL has ordered a moment of silence of remembrance of Davis at every game. This should be interesting.Stand by with the time delay.

I grew up a Raiders fan even though I'm from back East. Their attitudes and slogans like "Just Win Baby" and "Commitment to Excellence" were part of the entertainment.
