Since many surprises have ocurred in the World Cup including France, Portugal,Nigeria, and Argentina being eliminated, who do you think will take it all?
I for one was shocked that S. Korea advanced without a loss and I am also surprised that the US advanced.
Round of 16:
US beats Mexico
S. Korea loses to Italy
Spain beats Ireland
Brazil beats Belgium-- penalty kicks
Turkey beats Japan-- shoot kicks
Germany beats Paraguay
England beats Denmark(note-last two have happened)

Germany beats US
Italy beats Spain
Brazil beats England-- penalty kicks
Sweden beats Turkey

Italy beats Germany--penalty kicks
Brazil beats Sweden

Italy beats Brazil

What are your predictions? So far, I predicted Italy to win it all before the World Cup started, and my prediction stays the same.

Blink182, I can take you saying Brazil will beat England, but please God don't put us out on penalty kicks again!  Big grin

I'm predicting Brazil as the winners, Italy are looking unconvincing as ever although i expect them to improve greatly. England have an outside chance of winning it, depends if we can carry on playing how we are.

Good luck to all the nations, it's do or die.

I like the idea of penalty kicks vs. Italy, our penalty performances have always been good.

These are the penalty kicks I remember over the last years:

1996 EC 1/2 final Germany - England | Germany won
1990 WC 1/2 final Germany - England | Germany won
1986 WC 1/4 final Germany - Mexico | Germany won
1982 WC 172 final Germany - France | Germany won

I pretty much agree with all your predictions, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mexico take the US...did you forget about senegal/sweden? would be cool to see underdog like senegal win...they looked damn good against sweden

Italy beats Germany--penalty kicks

I wouldn't say that. Italy has a good chance to beat Germany in the game, but Germany is very good in penalties, so I think Germany would have very much better chances then. Especially with the world's best goalkeeper, Oliver Kahn, playing for Germany.

Anybody see Ireland and Spain? I couldn't stay up long enough to see the start of it, but I read on fifaworldcup.com that Spain won 3-2 in penalty kicks. I am going to get to bed early tonight, wakeup and watch US vs. Mexico, and then go back to sleep.

Yep, I saw it....it was a great game.

Shame the Irish didn't do it, they really deserved to win. They had most of the chances in the second half but they were terrible with the penalties.

Spain were the favourites, but I'm still disappointed!
