That's exactly why I put my real nickname as my username and not an airline company or an aircraft. Those things come and go, but my nickname will always be Marco, and I like it!

Well, the problem with real names is following:
try to open an account with Marco at Hotmail (just an example), with mine I can open accounts with most places, websites etc.
I like to use the same on all different places, sites etc. Simply because its more convenient and even with the small risk that I'm not always very happy with my user name...

Ndebele is still one of my favourite BA World Tails. There is no possibility to take the username "ColourDownTheSide" because it consists of more than 14 letters, and I couldn't take "Benyhone" because this username already exists (although "Benyhone" is one of the least active users, only 7 posts within more than one year). So I would still choose "Ndebele" as my username, and we will see the BA World Tails for at least three or four more years.

I had a few other user names before I settled on "KROC". And yes, those other names have been gone. I still like KROC. It represents where I am from, flows nice, and has become a staple of mine.

In my case I simply use my family name as an username, that's convenient for me.
But there is one thing that I don't understand here, why so many users have their real names withheld (in their user profile), what are you people so afraid of?
OK, I understand that some people have to hide their name(s), because they have some information that would cause them trouble if their employeer's knew that they share it with people on the a.net forums.
But how large percentage of the contributors have such type of employment that makes that necessary??

I started off on the forums as Brissie_Lions. Named after the best footy team in the world today. After about 2 years with that nickname, I changed over to "aviatsiya". Aviatsiya is Russian for aviation, which is where my passion in aviation lays...I could care less about USAirways or British Airways or QANTAS or other such airlines, unless of course it somehow concerns Russian aviation.
Sometime ago, I registered aviatsiya.ru for a friend of mine in Moscow, but after seeing the forums here he told me what I could do with the username :0)
So I decided to change from aviatsiya to aviatsiya.ru
Aviatsiya.ru being a website I am currently working on dealing exclusively with Russian/CIS civil aviation. So apart from declaring where my interests in aviatsiya lays, my username will also become a great promotional tool for the website when it is up and running in the coming months

Are you serious?
"KROC" is the airport identifier for the Greater Rochester International Airport. Rochester (Crapchester) is my home city. Thats why I chose that name. I was in the military at the time, and took it as a way of representing "home".

Nah, I don't like mine that much anymore. I'd rather change it to my email address name. I wonder if anyone can guess what the "FS" stands for. Contrary to popular belief, it's not FlightSim. Yes it has to do with aviation.
KROC: I always thought your username looked like a radio station, lol. We have a radio station down here in SoCal called "KROQ" and your name always reminds me of it, even though I never listen to that station.

777236ER a while back actually posted links to KROC stations, lol. There are several stations all over that do refer to themselves as "K-Rock". My name does sound like a radio station, but I think that is one of the reasons why is flows so smoothly.

I think the username is the only part of your topic that you cannot change. But if anybody wants to change his/her username... why not exchanging the usernames between two users? E.g., I would like to become KROC. So KROC, would you please send me an e-Mail with your password, then I will send you an e-Mail with my password, and then we will both change the other's password, and from that very moment I will post here with the username KROC, and KROC you can post here with my good old Ndebele username - confess, KROC, you always wanted to be Ndebele, didn't you
