So I have been watching plenty of T.V. lately, especially the Bowl games. But what REALLY wrinkles my laundry is all the car ads. Yeah,I know they are doing their annual year end push, but Come On Man!! I am about ready to lose it. I usually change channels, but then another ad is on that station too. Anybody else feel the same way? Rant almost over.

The mute button is your friend. Every time an annoying commercial comes on I hit the mute.

Yes, the car commercials are annoying. The worst one is a Lexus commercial that is completely unrealistic. The car is sitting outside while it's snowing but there is no snow on the car.

Look on the bright side. The holiday season is over and the Christmas car commercials will go away.

I believe that's their new snow-repellent feature.

What really grills my onions is the way they speak in these commercials. Save $2,000 instantly "on Altima." Zero percent financing "on Maxima." While it may be grammatically correct (I ranted about this in a previous thread and this seemed to be the general consensus), does anyone actually talk like this? I sure don't know anyone who does. Perhaps it can be met half way and simply preface the car with the word "any" followed of course by the usual exclusions.

The Nissan Frontier commercials are the worst! A Nissan Frontier save an airliners with a broken nose gear, or a Frontier snow boarding, come on man!

I'm lovin it!

Go on and rant! I need all the help I can get. If you hate car commercials, then fasten your seatbelt because in mid February it's Presidents Day Weekend and the car commercials ramp up and are even stupider.

And I like your statement wrinkle my laundry.

So, what gives me ring around the collar more than the heavy amount of car commercials are the ones for:

Mc.Donalds
Communication commercials (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Android, Blackberry/Crackberry) I vs. V Infinity (Comcast vs. Verizon) both do nothing for ironing my laundry.

Lawyer Commercials

Drug Commercials: How to get a rise out of your lizard.

The only funny thing about that commercial is the old woman's uneasy laugh when she realizes that Gordon is terrorizing everyone in the kitchen.

I'm not a big car commercial guy, but I generally like the Honda spokesman in their holiday commercials. This one's my favorite - it pokes fun at those stupid Lexus ads with the giant red bow.

I don't know about any of you, but I'd have to be pretty rich to not get angry with my spouse for buying something as expensive as a Lexus without any prior consultation.

I think there are entirely too many commercials on television these days period. In a 1 hour long show, 20 minutes of it are commercials. I now DVR everything I watch and just hit the commercial skip button. I now spend hours less each week watching the shows I like.

Even though Gordon Ramsey seems like a nice guy off camera he does give the impression that all you need to do to run a good restaurant is:

Yell & scream at your employees and call them names. Maybe throw a few pots or pans at them for good measure.
Just keep pushing them and maybe they'll quit and you can then hire competent people.
Repaint the restaurant white so it looks like a cafeteria in Walmart and people will like it.

If you guessed forums you are absolutely correct. Here one can critique and sound off on commercials. The advertising industry at least here in the USA needs a good swift kick in the you know what. And I detest the latest trend of using a tinny GPS voice to tell you to buy this or try that.

There are too many poorly done and worse lie about the real price a new owner will pay. There are 3 categories of ads. 'National' ads, ones made under the parent company but paid for by regional dealership groups (i.e. Greater NY Klunker Dealers) and local dealership paid ads, sometimes with subsidies from the car makers.

It is even worse in some smaller cities or on cable channels as to local/regional dealers with own commercials. Often done by the owners, looking cheap and silly with their hopefully hot looking daughter, wife or mistress, often playing up lowball pricing no one gets and is loaded with fine print that hides the real price the average sucker will pay. Worse is that all these ads cost money that adds to the price you will pay for the car.

I don't know what's worse: that commercial or the hipster carols they had on TV last year.

This one and a new one she's in driving the car and wearing all different outfits is are the very reason the mute button was created! Horrible songs, horrible voice. Although I must admit I think she really plays guitar, those look like actual chord positions she's holding.
