I thought we would maybe need a thread to collect some memories of the Stockholm/Arlanda meeting this weekend. As there are maybe more people like myself who will not make a trip report (I have not done any flights) we can just collect impressions and photos in this thread. Everyone who is publishing a trip report is of course free to post a link in here so we can keep track of all the report that will hopefully come soon.
I will likely post some photos tomorrow after work when I had some time to select.
so for now: Thanks a lot to all who came and participated in this great event.

Here the short "report" of mine (posted here as it is not really a trip-report).
Sorry for the non-optimium image quality - these are just quick&dirty processed
Well … as I had no flights for this weekend I will not do a full sized trip report but I still want to show some photos I made during these two GREAT days
I took my car to ARN on Saturday morning (to be mobile during the weekend and not to be bound to any train times). As I was there a bit to early (had planned the drive including some traffic that was simply not there at this early times) I placed myself in the Skycity with some view of the apron and the operational RWY 01L.
Blue1 B717 (OH-BLM) … I think this one brought FlyingFinn and some other finnish members
After some time a hat appeared at the end of Skycity … as I had never met anyone from a.net before that was the best sign to go after. In the end we all met on the balcony before one part (I think we were 11 people) started in direction of the Caravelle either by car or on foot.
SE-DAI owned by the “le Caravelle club”
We were greeted on the inside by two members of the club who gave us a short introduction to the plane while we were seated in the spacious cabin. We even got a free catering (at least some food, no drinks – these would have probably been frozen solid before being served)
A/B seats onboard … note the nice triangular windows (very large by the way)
Everyone was granted a visit to the cockpit and had some discussions there with the technical director of the club. They had just been running an engine test some weeks before which went reasonably well for the fact that everything was switched off for the last three years. Maybe they will even do more engine runs during the year (and hopefully even taxi-runs). They will not fly in closer future as the plane is now missing the large C-check.
Caravelle Cockpit – very old-school
After the Caravelle visit we dropped off some people at the terminal who wanted to take the flight to TLL or maybe do something else. One group then proceeded to the beginning of RWY 01L where all the incoming and take-off traffic would come by to do some spotting. Really icy wind made it difficult to be outside. Some took photos of our group … hopefully they will be posted here …
Estonian Saab 340 coming in which would bring a part of the group to TLL
The most impressive performance was given by the Thai B744 taking off – the RWY was wet so it generated a HUGE train of mist.
Thai B744 during takeoff …
… generating a huge trail of mist
IranAir A300 coming in
At some point it became too cold for everyone and we left to drop our bags at the hotels and meet again later at the terminal. There we went for dinner (of course with a view on the RWY) and observed a strange bird.
Novair/AirEuropa A330
Apparently they had not yet finished the repainting of this former AirEuropa bird that is now operating for Novair.
After dinner we split up and most of us returned to their hotels or for drinks somewhere else.
The next morning I went for spotting again at RWY 01L to catch some incoming traffic like the Ethiopian B752.
Ethiopian B752 on approach
It was cold (but no longer that windy) morning with beautiful light by the low sun. I had the best surprise when leaving the hotel in the morning as some when during the night an Antonov An124 had arrived and was now parked on the cargo apron. I already made plans where there would be a good spot to take photos of her when returning to the terminal for lunch when I heard engines starting up while spotting. What a great luck … she started taxiing for takeoff right in front of me
Antonov An124 coming out of its hiding place
Taxiing towards me …
… and turning on to 01L
… and finally painting think black lines into the Swedish sky
I dropped my car at the hotel (free parking ) and took the shuttle back to the terminal. I went into Skycity to catch the AirBaltic coming in and bringing a part of our TLL group back to ARN.
AirBaltic F50 with a couple of A.netters onboard
After a joined lunch (with 16 A.netters) Martijn and Airkas left for a short hop to catch the Saab 2000 on a GoldenAir flight.
The Saab 2000 during push-back
I spend some more time chatting with FlySwiss and finally bade him farewell because he had to catch his flight back home. So I left the terminal, picked up my car and went to the beginning of RWY 26 (they had switched the landing onto this direction) to do some long exposure shots. During this I also got the Saab coming back with Martijn and Airkas.
GoldenAir landing
I “raced” back to the terminal to catch those two (which surprisingly really worked) so we went for a joined dinner before Martijn had to leave for his return flight. I went back to RWY 26 to show Airkas the spotting location as he wanted to return there during Monday (@ Airkas: Did it worked?). From there I started my 2.5h drive back home to finish this incredible weekend …
I am not good in taking photos of people so I skipped that part and hope that other will take over the duty of posting some photos of the meeting itself. Depending of what others will show I will maybe add more photos later.
I took some time and collected all the flights happing together with the meeting … at least as far as they were posted before or I knew about. If I missed some please tell me and I will update this GCMap:
Thanks for posting that summary of the meeting!
It was indeed a great weekend and some really nice pictures and flying with it.
The caravelle was really special and I appreciate that you and the club arranged it so well!
Quoting sultanils (Reply 1): Apparently they had not yet finished the repainting of this former AirEuropa bird that is now operating for Novair.
I believe Novair lease that bird over the winter season only, with Swedish Novair crew in the cabin and Spanish Air Europa crew in the cockpit.

Wow, seems you guys had a great time at ARN. I wish I could have attended, but unfortunately I was busy during those days with a school project. Maybe next time

Looks and sounds like y'all had a good time at Arlanda - and telling from the one TR linked so far - also for the Tallinn Sub-meeting.
Quoting photophil (Reply 3): Really icy wind made it difficult to be outside.
Now, that's what I had to avoid in my situation.
I really consider to head to ARN for spotting during some warmer and brighter lit time of the year like in,say, May.
Will do some checks on (unusual) routings once I have sorted out the last things for my upcoming trip to South Korea end of March.

EDIT: If only the timings of that ET flight from/to FCO were better. Around 120 € oneway ain't too bad for a new airline to log.

Here’s a selection of my photos from the event:
Le Caravelle Club’s beautiful Caravelle, SE-DAI
Must have a legroom shot!
Oldskool controls
A visit to the flight deck and nice chat with the club’s tech director
No glass cockpit here.. Love the brake parachute!
Old but cozy front office
Imagine trying to fit a modern rollaboard up there..
The signature Caravelle windows and authentic 1970s SAS seats
Beautiful!
I love the part where you have to slide down a rope to evacuate the cabin..
The flowers are a nice touch
Galley
This Caravelle could use a new coat of paint..
Boarding the proper way
The electrical system works just fine
Apparently Airbus withdrew the type certificate for the Caravelle. I don’t know how hard it is to get her flying again even if the money somehow comes up for a C check. I guess they could fly her as an experimental aircraft?
After the Caravelle some of us headed for one of ARN’s more well known spotting locations for some photos in the freezing wind and miserable light.
Did they put this on a stick?
No report from ARN is complete without SAS
Is that an alien abduction?
The Tallinn-goers plane coming in
I started playing with my scanner to get a picture of what was going on but the batteries died within minutes. Oh well..
About as much action as you can get on a Saturday at ARN
Spray much?
Heading off to someplace warm, no doubt..
More charter tourists, although their destination is not as warm
We had hoped to get shots of this taking off, instead we got it coming in.. That’s a healthy delay for you.
I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch what airline you were from?
I had to head back to Stockholm after this, was freezing to death and running out of light anyway. Would’ve loved to stay for a chat, but maybe some other time..

Thanks for the great pictures Phil... Not sure if it counts as part of the weekend but you missed my ATP roundtrip on friday, ARN-VHM (Vilhelmina), LYC-ARN. (took the bus between these two... the only way to get on two different ATP's and increase the chance of flying on at lease one new frame from 50% to 83%. Hardcore geek alert...
Also my routing on sunday was ARN-FRA-AMS.
Will upload some pictures here later.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Quoting photophil (Reply 21): I think the plan is to fly into TXL on the 2nd before its closed and then out of BER the next morning on one of the very first flights ...
Might be crowded on that weekend but that's a great idea ideed.
