Subscribe to BBC America - it's on there. The American version doesn't even deserve to be called Top Gear.

At least now they're showing the full uncut British versions as apposed to the edited under 1 hour shows earlier in 2011.

I may be in a minority here, but I liked the India special. I fully admit that i'm originally from there so there's a bit of bias, but some of the jokes were brilliant:

Do you really think Hammond made that turn thinking all those tiffin boxes would stay on the roof?

That the banners accidentally were written in a way that would be torn just right by an unexpected train reshuffle and end up with something funny?

That they really expected to be able to stream a banner down the side of the train? Admittedly that turned out to be even more dangerous than they thought. The way that heavy roll got pulled out... wow.

That they actually expected people to appreciate the incredibly crappy band they put together in Delhi?

Sorry, but I think they tried a little too hard and overscripted it.

The one joke that I think they could have had a bit more fun with was linking up James' brake pedal to the horn. That could have been a laugh-riot in the right place (since the Rolls is an automatic, the brake pedal has to be on all the time in stop and go traffic).

But there's nothing to say that it wasn't funny. Again, I can relate to some of the stuff they did in the show becasue I've been to those places and the things they did there were hilarous. Even if it was overly scripted it was still hilarious.

And the Brake/Horn thing - that was absolutely brilliant, that had me ROFLcoptering.

All Top Gear segments are almost entirely scripted though. You (not you specifically) are delusional if you believe otherwise.

You mean all those races where thy come in just a few seconds apart are scripted?

The basic premise of the show is great, they have all the best cars on there and some of the stuff they do is fun. But the races are so predictable it spoils it.

Yeah tell me about it! James and Richard could easily have beaten Jeremy in the car. But then again the show is about cars and I guess they are trying to put across the car is supposedly the best (but we all know aircraft are better though haha).

I read somewhere that the Japan episode actually wasn't scripted, It was scheduled to be close but that it would be very possible for Jeremy to lose.

Yes, the show is very scripted, but they freely admit that. I avguely remember when they won the award for "best unscripted entertainment show" Clarkson said he'd be unable to go to the ceremony because he'd be busy writing the next week's script. Nevertheless the race results are not especially demonstrative of that.

I read that they do the races, time the results, then do them again while filming. During this time they also add/script in some other bits such as crashes, breakdowns, speeding fines etc to make the show more funny/interesting.
