A very (and thank god for that) uncool item, namely a heat fan. My radiator is a bit on and off, and when the temperature dips below 5-10 degrees C below freezing, a heat source of some sort is very much needed.

HP LaserJet P1102w. It's wireless and connects right through our home network, so all of our laptops (and iPhone 4 with AirPrint!) can print from anywhere in the house. The desktop also prints to it right through the wireless router. It stays on "cold" standby all the time, and doesn't need to be connected to any one computer to access the internal settings...simply type in its network IP address from any network-connected computer in an open browser window, and the printer "configuration page" appears. You can also download a driver installer right from configuration page for any computers not yet connected and ready. I love this printer!

WANT. (Although I already have a 50mm f/1.4 )
My 20D is getting long in the tooth, and the 1.8 inch viewing screen is just so tiny. Not sure I'm ready to step into a full-frame body, and I don't need the speed of the 7D or even the power/performance that the latest prosumers now offer compared to the 20D...So I'm sure when it's time for a new body, the latest Rebel will do just fine. Plus that'll save money toward good glass.
(Call me weird, but I actually had a dream last night that I was shooting around with a nice, new camera and some sort of ultra wide-super zoom telephoto L-IS lens which I know doesn't exist...Probably somewhere in the range of 17-400mm. Although I guess the real-life 28-300mm L-IS would come the closest. )

EDIT - What are your thoughts on that 17-40?

Correct on both counts. While 5-string basses go B-E-A-D-G, 6-strings go B-E-A-D-G-C (typically - I'm sure there are exceptions). And yeah, the lower strings are close to if not exactly the same size (I don't remember what size strings I have on them).
Quoting KFLLCFII (Reply 27): EDIT - What are your thoughts on that 17-40?
Love it. To be honest, I kind of wish I had upgraded my telephoto instead of my wide-angle, as the 18-55 kit lens I was using was actually pretty good optically. But the 17-40 is awesome, and the massive upgrade in build quality is quite pleasing. It's a great buy for the price.

No- just the '83 and the '95. The '83 was incredible; the '95 was great but 15 years too young when I had it (2005). I also have an '89 I haven't drunk yet which seems to be a divisive wine- some people adore it and others think it's meh.
$800 is just too much for me, but hopefully one day I'll taste the '90 at an auction pre-tasting. That's where I tasted the '86 Mouton. It's just not quite the same though....

I dished out north of $500 for this epic radar detector, a stealth mount and hidden wire. And the worst part is that the day I was supposed to get it delivered, mere hours before it was dropped on my doorstep, I got a goddamned speeding ticket, even while I had my old radar detector on. First speeding ticket in a looong time and the only one I've gotten while using a detector (because I was being an idiot) Freakin raged all day
Also my Christmas present to myself was a memory foam mattress, as for the last 4 months I had been sleeping on an inflatable camping air mattress ever since I moved to my new job/apartment.
Full size for $350 on Amazon. Feels no different than a ridiculously overpriced Tempurpedic for just 15% the cost of one.

There are even 19" 1080p TVs available. I got this 24" LED Insignia (Best Buy brand) to replace the old Sharp Aquos 20" LCD in my room. The TV was on sale for $200, so I decided to buy it. My computer has a Blu-ray drive and HDMI port, so I connected to my new TV and can now watch my 1080p videos in full 1080p and Blu-ray disks.

When I worked at the Job Corps campus at their medical center, there'd always been these dudes coming in for condoms (we gave them away free, of course) asking for Magnums.
There was this one kid who was particularly obnoxious about it and always came in trailed by a group of his buddies while he asked for Magnums. One day, I just casually asked: "Who is that you want Magnums for, now?" One eyebrow slightly raised, but otherwise complete deadpan. Here I am, kakhis, button-down shirt, white coat, stethoscope, every bit the 30yo young professional physician. These guys saw me as a doctor, but not as a human being. So when I suddenly threw out the verbal jab, all his friends went totally nuts.

You guys are funny and being jovial but I was completely truthful with my post.
I'll even add a somewhat embarrassing story to it. For the longest time as a teenager and young 20yo I NEVER knew I needed larger condoms. I mean I had sex for like 4 years before I realized that I needed magnum sized condoms. I just thought they were supposed to be really tight and really annoying. Try to put on a condom that is too small for you, sometimes it is even a struggle to keep your erection! It is really embarrassing being with someone really hot and having this tighta** condom constricting your hard on. I was so amazed when I found the magnums fit so awesomely that I was like OMG... The thickness is the problem. I'm not bragging, I don't really need Magnum XLs or XXLs.
