Quoting homer71 (Thread starter): Apparently a self-inflicted gunshot did him in, I wonder what kind of demons did he have to drive him to this
The New York Times reports that Cornelius went through a nasty divorce, entered a plea of "no contest" to charges of spousal battery which resulted in three years' probation, and claimed to be suffering from health problems:

This is really sad to read about. I grew up watching his show as a kid. He made a big impact in the music industry and helped launch many successful artist.
Sounds like he was battling demons that made him take his own life.
Rest in Peace Don!

This was sad indeed. However, having to listen to the s**t that passes for today's music would drive anyone with some common sense to lose it. Curious, what did Don Cornelius think of today's artists and their so called music? On an economic/business perspective and his personal preferences? Those back in the day Soul Train shows had those mechanical dancers that trumped Michael Jackson and his "moon walk." I don't consider Maroon 5's Jagger hit worthy. And the only thing good about the Black Eyed Peas is Fergie whoring it up all sweaty in her mini skirts.
