For some reason, I don't seem to care this year. Don't care about NE or NYG and the halftime show is probably going to blow and I can watch the commercials online. Anyone else skipping out on it?

I'm going to a "Big Game" party, but I won't be paying much attention to the game.
As far as I'm concerned the season ended entirely when my 49ers lost the NFC Chapionship. "The Big Game" is such an over-the-top production, I can't stand the circus shenanigans. We've had the NBC pregame show on in the background all morning, but I keep doing a double take thinking this was New Years Eve.
No one on the West Coast seams to care this year. Most people are disappointed about the matchup. Tired of seeing both teams...

Let's face it...75%+ of Americans are watching the game in some fashion...either for the commercials or the game itself...or at some kind of party
so ahhh...enjoy the commercials on YouTube I guess

I agree. The whole run-up to the show has been old for at least five days now but thats how the media is today I suppose...

That would explain why I do not watch it ... living for over 16 years in Canada I have not seen one game... not my cup of tea , same goes for all the other sports except NHL

I'm watching it right now and there's sooo many crappy commercials followed by 3 minutes of game play i'm about to give up...the game really ain't that good either and I dunno if it's just me, but there seems to be no atmosphere or excitement.

The estimate is 111 million will watch for some reason making it a little over 30% of the US population. The vast majority are not watching.

Not watching... It's rather pointless with the invention of Facebook... Regardless if I want to know, plenty of people on my Facebook will post every little detail of the game and commercials.

If the Steelers aren't in, I don't watch...
Now that they got rid of an offensive anchor that was Bruce Arians, perhaps they can develop the offense into something Super Bowl worthy...
I'm pulling for the Giants to win this one tho.

Tonight's game just feels like a repeat of something that gets played over and over like a broken record. The last time I actually watched a Super Bowl is when the Seahawks went for XL and then Arizona went later.
Now, if it was a Super Bowl that featured either Washington vs. Oakland ..or.. St. Louis vs. Jacksonville, for example, then I would watch that.

Super Hype, Super Bore, Super Bowl.
Good grief, does anybody really need a 6-hour pre-game show? They've talked it to death so much they've likely turned off as many people as they've bored to death.

It's become a national holiday. And that became confirmed when NBC had an ad with the casts of their tv shows wishing us all a "Happy Super Bowl".
Good grief...

Who care about the Super "Bowel" this year? No one west of the Mississippi River that I know of, because ex-New Yorkers or Bostonians. The Patriots and the Giants already get way too much exposure in the media in the regular season, thanks to the fact that they are located in large media markets.

Hahaha im sorry but that did make me laugh. I am sports fan, and I like the NFL but that is a bit over the top. When I go to the US, I know now to stay away during the Super Bowl week.

Not only do I not care for football, so did not watch, but I had to work! Super Bowl Sunday is the BEST day to work retail! Everyone else is boozing it up and leaving all of us alone!

It's funny, I've been at my job for 7+ years now and this was the first year I have not worked during "The Big Game". It's been harder to get off than Christmas! Unfortunately I had today off because I wasted a vacation day, a day I took off in hopes the 49ers would be playing.

I was too busy today; between the morning and evening services at church, I went to a San Francisco Symphony concert (chamber series concert) at Davies Symphony Hall.
Besides, the two teams that squared off today are not teams I am interested in. However, if one of the teams had been the Indianapolis Colts (my home state's team) or the SF 49ers (where I live now), I might have taken some interest in whether the team won or lost.
Give me baseball, or even cricket (another favourite sport, from my life in the UK) any day!

Well, I just cheated again ! We watched the game.............VERY good football game, both sides played extremely well, and as usual, the halftime show SUCKED ! But then again, it was Madonna, and she ALWAYS sucks! ( IMHO )
Not only was it a great game, but it also turned out the way I wanted it to..............
Another big "plus", the cameraman spent quite a bit of time focusing on Tom Brady while he was on the bench............typical Brady ! Pays no attention what-so-ever to the game; inasmuch as I'm a pretty fair "mind reader", I could tell what he was thinking; "damn, I'll be glad when this thing is over so I can go home and gaze at myself in the mirror"! Then there was the usual performance from the Patriots coach, the one and only, "warm & fuzzy", Bill Billic????
(never could spell names like that) anyway, coach "Bill" spent a lot of time.........spitting! ( you can tell he knows the camera is on him, so he keeps spitting, while "thinking"........."up yours TV audience" !
( There's a rumor going around that Mr. Kraft is thinking about sending him and Brady to "charm school" during the off-season. )
Even had some great commercials this year.............

I did not watch the Superbowl.
I know zilch about American Football.
I did not know it was on anyway.
Our football here is A.S. Monaco (2011 epic failure), O.G.C. Nice, Inter Milano and A.C. Milano.
We never hear a word about American Football. It does not seem to have much following in Europe.
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde
