Just saw this leaked photo of the upcoming Ferrari F620GT that is to be unveiled at Geneva. The F620GT is to replace the 599GTB in the lineup.
As far as styling goes, this is excellent although the flying buttress pillars appear to be history. At least as good as the Lamborghini Aventador. Ferrari has clearly gotten their groove back after stumbling on the FF (all they had to do was straighten the roofline).
The F620GT should be extremely fast as well, packing 740 horsepower, which is 40 over the Aventador and 80 over the 599 GTO, and should be good for 0-60 in about three seconds. No info on pricing, but I would expect it will carry a healthy increase over the 599 and will of course carry Ferrari's typically high premiums tacked on by dealers looking to make the most on their allotments (Italias sell for at least $280,000 usually, but I've heard McLaren forbids dealers from selling cars over sticker).
Hopefully the 620 will be less, uh, thermally unstable than other recent Ferraris.

Well, here it is, but it isn't called the F620GT. Ferrari is calling it the F12berlinetta (not a typo) which is a bit weird but for a car like this it doesn't matter in the least.
A few points:
1. Ferrari's styling issues on the FF are gone. The FF, despite being a great GT car in every other respect was a hiccup in the styling department but hasn't become a pattern.
2. Nice F1 styling cues on the front and rear with the pseudo-wing in the front fascia and the LED light (can't tell exactly what it will be used for) and vague rear wing shape up the middle and around the tail lights on the rear.
3. The flying buttresses of the 599 are gone, along with the Corvette clone rear end that was underneath them. The new rear styling seems to borrow a lot from the Alfa Romeo 8C, not a bad role model.
4. The side scallop from the 599 has grown a lot bigger but, oddly, doesn't seem to incorporate a vent, unless it is in the top. (Engine compartment instead of brakes?) It doesn't look bad, but I wonder if I would have liked a slab sided version better if the cutout isn't functional.
5. The F12 will be fast. Really fast, although the 0-60 time is now said to be 3.1 seconds instead of the previously rumored three flat. I'd count on a top speed north of 200 mph.

Hasn't Ferrari done this before? When it was rumored that the Daytona was going to be called, well, Daytona, didn't they omit the name from all product literature and call it the 365GTB/4?
Anyway, looks great from every angle except straight on- far too aggressive there, I think, although the fact that it's packing 740 horsepower perhaps entitles it to a bit of aggression.

The thing I don't like about Lamborghini is there are very unpractical. Don't get me wrong, a Ferrari is not either but there are more of a car that can be driver every day, they are not so low to the ground with the wing doors etc..

They are less prone to incinerating themselves on the side of a highway than Ferraris, but it still happens from time to time.
Quoting AirPacific747 (Reply 13): I agree. Especially the new Aventador. Best looking car in its class in my opinion.
The Aventador is a very good looking car. The Countach started the aggressive styling, but some of the wings and body cladding made certain variants look clunky. The Diablo was wonderfully styled, taking the Countach style and making it more aggressively proportioned and cleaning it up. Plus it was possibly the last really uncivilized Lambo, for better or worse. The Murcielago was not ugly by any stretch, but it did appear a bit bloated and too round. The Aventador is an improvement with the more angular and athletic look.
Quoting na (Reply 14): I agree, as the front end is not too much how I like it to be. The 599 had a nicer "face".
I don't think the face is bad, just that the rear is nicer. The rear of the F12 is far, far nicer than the 599, which looked like a Corvette missing two taillights.
Quoting na (Reply 14): Yuck, a car which jumped out of a comic. No thanks, Lambos are far too extrovert and unpractial.
That's the beauty of Lamborghini: they are completely outrageous. They look insane and they drive insane. What other car can be painted in colors otherwise found only in bags of Skittles and look just fine? (Definitely not Ferraris, despite what some wealthy Arabs seem to think) And Lambos look just as good in dark colors too, even matte gray or black. They look like Darth Vader on wheels.

Quoting doug_Or (Reply 17): Well... Oil? Brake fluid? What did it leak?
Being a Ferrari, chances are good that it will be all of the above. And it's probably 50/50 whether it ignites.
If owners are lucky, it will do so within easy walking distance of a Porsche dealer so their lives will be minimally interrupted.

Great!!! After the boring Airbus vs Boeing topic we have created the more exciting Ferrari vs Lamborghini topic.

Lamborghini isn't letting Ferrari have all the fun.
They have unveiled a completely al fresco Aventador called the Unica at Geneva. It looks really cool, like taking the traditional wide and flat Lambo styling and turning it up to eleven, although practicality may be an issue, although there is precedent in the SLR McLaren Stirling Moss Edition, so if they so choose, I would guess that some of these may hit the streets. And I really hope they choose to.
