Seems like the NFL has ditched Reebok (no real surprise there) and went with Nike. All 32 teams had their new uniforms unveiled today in New York. Green Bay and Denver have no new looks at all. However, Seattle completely changed their uniforms. Their new uniforms looks like the Oregon Ducks!    OMG! See for yourself at www.seahawks.com I for one am NOT happy with Seattle's new look. You gotta be kidding me, I wished this was an April Fools joke. Seems like ESPN agrees with me!

So, what do you NFL fans have to say about the changes, not just for Seattle but for the rest of the NFL?

Discuss!

Seattle looks much better than that stupid pastel blue and abcess green they had the past two years! Possibly other teams are jealous because they did not get a cool make-over?

They have had that since 2002. That green was never a part of the original Seahawks.

I doubt that. I bet the rest of the teams are laughing at Seattle.

By the way, those are not wings on Seattle's uniform...those look more like tulips.... Ugh!

Except for Seattle most of the uniforms look just about the same. I wonder if fans will notice the gloves with the team logo on them?

They mostly look the same as they did this past season. For 31 of the teams, the changes are so subtle, a normal person would be hard pressed to figure out the differences without an old uniform for reference. The most obvious visual difference is the cut. They are cut to be tighter so they stick to the pads better. Other than that, it is the research and development of the material that is biggest difference from the old uniforms.

Also, the owners are not going to radically change their team's uniforms because they got a new manufacturer. Plus, they can only change once every 5 years and many teams did change less than 5 years ago.

As for the Seahawks, it is not that bad and no where near the ridiculousness of the OU Ducks uniforms. The neon green stripe on the blue pants is much bolder, but it was already there on the old uniform and several players wore neon green gloves. Probably the stupidest part is the addition of the carbon fiber detail on the helmet. I'd say most fans will get used to it rather quickly.

The Falcons new uniforms are the same design they've had for several seasons now, which remind me of something an arena league team would wear. The only change is the material they are made from. I'm half surprised that Nike didn't try to make them look like the UGA Pro Combat uniform they wore against Boise State (Well if the Smith family still owned the Falcons, they probably would have....).

The Seahawks makeover is extreme and not a necessary change. Any changes to the other 31 teams were minor changes that in some cases, you can't really tell. Here's a slideshow of all of the new uniforms:

http://www.businessinsider.com/new-n...niforms-2012-4#arizona-cardinals-1

The gloves they designed for each team are a bit over the top in my opinion.

I remember when the NHL switched to the RBK uniforms several seasons back and the majority of the NHL teams had entirely new looks because the new uniform templates and materials didn't allow them to retain their previous design, and a lot of fans didn't like that. At least here the NFL teams (with the exception of Seattle) maintained their uniforms as close to previous seasons as possible.

The number font is very similar to the Ducks. And the Seahawks uniform does have "wings" on the collar of the jersey and down the sides of the pants. They look more like tulips to me.

I notice the change in the neck of the jersey, very different. Nike did something that prevents the jersey from going under the shoulder pads after being tackled. I wonder how they did the Packers jersey as that collar, historically, is thicker than a normal NFL jersey. And the Seahawks are not the only ones with a new uniform. One other team did it, IIRC. I read somewhere that Carolina was to have a new logo and uniform.... but the link that SRBMod provided did not show the new logo.

The neon was there, but in a more darker shade. The new neon is just even more brighter, a turn-off.

Agreed.

I totally agree with you. SRBMod.... I have no idea why the Seahawks needed a change. My guess is the folks down I-5 were just bored and wanted to stick it to the Huskies.

That's why I said the biggest visual difference is the cut (and fit). You can see how much more it will fit tighter against the pads and body.

New logo, somewhat. They really just did an update to the original logo and changed the font. More rounded features with the nose and whiskers in blue instead of silver. Really looks like something from the newer Batman cartoon series.

The jersey looks pretty much the same as the old one with some minor differences.

The cut looks really good though. I wonder how Nike did Green Bay's jerseys as we all know their V-neckline is thicker than the rest of the NFL.

Quoting ha763 (Reply 7):

The logo looks good. The font, not so much... it looks like it was taken out of a movie, a fictional football team.

It looks better!

On a side note, has anyone noticed there is no more "Equipment" with the NFL shield anymore. Are they going back to the NFL shield only??

Here is an interesting tidbit about the NFL teams saying they don't want the new jerseys:
