Kieron was one of the nicest guys I ever met online. We had planned so many times to meet at one of the UK meets. Always postponed it for later.
Goes to show that one should not always postpone such things. At some point, there may be no 'later'...
Rest in Peace, Kieron. You will be missed...
By the way, his family has suggested that donations, if desired, would be made for the British Heart Foundation. If anybody needs more details, please do let me know.

Quoting aloges (Thread starter): While he was no longer a member, some of us will certainly remember him for his positive, inspiring and informative posts.
I didn't realize he was no longer a member (I did wonder where he'd gone, though....funny how you notice people's absences). I will certainly remember him, and threads like this:

Kieron was a very good man with a quick wit and sharp intellect. I had the pleasure of knowing him personally, and remember once as we sat at the bar at the Cadogan and drank good single malt while making caustic observations of the people around us. I pointed out that Sam Clemons and Oscar Wilde once did the same thing from the same bar, and he quickly said "well, you're older but I'm certainly straight!". (double witticism as I am not that much older and certainly straight, just keepin that out there... )
Kierons last post on FB, well second to last...his last was "Bloody snow!"....was a very cool video that I think says something about his perspective and aesthetic. Give it a watch when you get a second...it's safe for work.
If you knew Kieron747 or DrKieron as he was known after he earned his PhD (for which I commended his modesty with a mocking tone) and you want to post condolences :
His parents and family still read both and appreciate the notes, and are very pleased to find he had so many friends and aquaintances all over the world. It's one of the things that makes this site what it is.
One more thing...just to show what the community here is all about...a few years ago around twenty or thirty a.netters from allover the world chipped in (from ten pounds to a couple hundred dollars per cotributor)to finance a return trip home for a fellow a.netter studying abroad in the face of some real challenges that I assure you most of us never have or will face, who couldn't afford it himself and was facing a lonely Christmas holiday far from loved ones. Kieron was one of the ones who stepped up, immediately, and with an offer to do more if needed...and it was an indication of his character, as well as the spirit that represents the best of our community. Often we get dragged down here, especially in NonAv, so I think that we occasionally should remind ourselves why we are really here, and what we do for each other.
I'm personally glad to be a part of this community of airplane geeks and real people. Some of you irritate the ever loving crap out of me, others have become friends for life. Communities like this have improved my life and broadened my horizons. Thanks to you all, and thanks to Kieron, who taught me that even if you're an egghead scientist you could still be a witty, personable and good guy to talk with via written word or in person.

Such a cool guy with the greatest sense of humor. I'm really shocked and saddened by this news.
My condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.
