Do you put bumper stickers on your car and if you do, what do you have?
I myself do not have any bumper stickers on my car. I see most bumper stickers other than a AAA sticker as just tacky particularly with a new car. The two worst kinds for me are political stickers, even the ones that support the candidates that I like and the ever present "student of the year at ____ academy", one person had four stickers covering the back window of the minivan that I saw.

I couldn't agree more. Bumper stickers are beyond tacky. Cars are some of the biggest purchases you will ever make, why would you taint it with a pointless sticker? Even though I hate all bumper stickers, I won't give any grief over political affiliations or proud parents, but it's the ones that have stupid "jokes" or sayings on them that boil my blood. They're never funny and look awful!

I saw one the other day, I thought I knew what it meant, then I looked it up and I was right. It's a picture of a hand with the ring finger bent over...look up 'shocker' on Wiki if you don't know what I mean.
I'm not easily offended, but I seriously questioned why anyone would want to put that on their car. Disgraceful.

I guess I'll have to put a picture of my fiancee's new Cube on here; Cube's don't have bumpers though, and I sure wouldn't put some "sticky" sticker on the back window. As I bought the Cube for her as her Valentine, I really had to give her some way to "announce the fact"; as I do graphic design as a hobby, I designed a big 12" X 12" valentine with two big red hearts, with TO: and FROM: top and bottom, printed it twice on vinyl sign film, then bonded the films to two 12" square pieces of 1/8 in. sign magnet material (which I usually always have laying around) On valentine's day, I got up early, washed the Cube, and stuck a magnet on each front door, then parked the Cube in the front yard. Needless to say, my sweetie was tickled pink with her "valentine". (She especially enjoyed "showing it off" on her FB page!)
Here's the "unintended part"..............as she started driving around town in her "Valentine Cube", people started asking questions, like where she got the magnets, etc; so after a week or so, I made one more sign and put it under the one on the right door; "Custom Magnet Door Signs"
Your Choice, We Design
I only put that one on the door occasionally when we go to Terre Haute, and then only 8 or 9 times.
So far I've sold about 18 more door signs.
The whole trick to having a sign on your car is to have one that other people like, think is "cute", and can "identify with"
every time I notice someone looking at her valentine signs, they're always smiling, and not one person has shown any displeasure or made any negative comments.

I have a Cincinnati Reds sticker, a "I Heart Barcelona" sticker, and 2 stickers from my high school's booster club in 08-09 and 09-10. My license plate is from when my high school won state in 2007. Go Bombers!!!!!!

Haha, I saw one of those for the first time yesterday...and another one that was a big hand grenade on a truck's back window. Makes you wonder what the hell is wrong with people.
Seems like many stickers are about making the driver feel superior in some way. People just have to stand out somehow.

Quoting BMI727 (Reply 6): I kinda want to get a Dad sticker, about 6 Mom stickers and then go drive around Utah.
You'd blend right in!
Here in Colorado I see a lot of stickers that say 'nobody cares that you tele' (a reference to the notion that telemark skiers think that they're superior). Funny. I then saw one a couple of weeks ago saying 'nobody cares that I tele'. Ha, at least he understands!
Quoting Revelation (Reply 14): It's quite possible to be proud of one's children, or one's hobbies, or one's associations without feeling superior to others.
True, but a lot of people do do a lot of bragging. Look up the word 'blowhard' on the internet, you'll see a specific example of a blowhard is 'one who has bumper stickers on his car saying how great his children are'.
Another sticker I can't stand is one that simply says '26.2' - I guess it's just saying that 'I run marathons'. Great, congratulations. Now get out of my way.

I have 3 (though they're more decals than bumper stickers):
-one that says ICOM Inside (like the Intel logo, ICOM=Computer Engineering)
-one that says Colegio (the UPRM's old name)
-one that has the design of the Interstate route signs but with a paw print (our mascot is a bulldog)
-If you count the parking permits for each year of college, I have 3 from the UPRM and one from UPRB.
Others I was planning on adding or had in the past:
-One back when Bush was president that said Buck Fush, but it's meaningless today.
-During the 2008 Democrat primaries, I supported Hillary. Her campaign sent me one.
-I had one on my previous car that said: Retired, I was tired yesterday and I'm tired again today.
-Also on the same car, I had a decal with a bowling ball and a pin that said "Boleador boricua".
I'm not one to add dozens of bumper stickers or decals, but a bit of personality on a car doesn't hurt anybody.

No bumper stickers for me.
And one of my biggest pet peeves is the big American Flag.......on an imported car!! One of my neighbors has American flags flying from his car windows, stickers all over the place.......and he has four Hondas!
Thank you, I will keep my General Motors cars, which I've had for decades with no problems, and leave the stickers in the drawer.

Bumper stickers are unheard of here, they're all on the glass or the rear door (or course, sedans are rare too). Also, nobody would think of putting their high school or college on their car. The most common one I see is this one :
It means someone is attached to the island of Corsica. They're very common around here, as the suburbs of Paris are full of immigrants from the world but also from the rest of the country. Another common one is to show you're from Brittany :
Again a lot of people here in the west of Paris come from there, including my father.
I wouldn't put a sticker on a car I bought, but I got my car from my parents with two small ones and I left them. They're on each side of the rear windshield, where the glass is over the interior of the car, so they don't hamper visibility.
One is a triskelion because it's nice and a different way of showing you have a Celtic background, without separatist connotations :
The other one is a sticker showing support to the SNSM, the National Society for Sea Rescue, an NGO that intervenes in about half the rescue operations on the French coasts. My father is a sailor and taught sailing in his youth, so sea rescue is close to his heart.
Also, the regulations recently changed for the license plates here, the alphanumerical ID has become national instead of local, so the département number is no longer part of the ID. Instead, it's put in small at the right hand of the plate, with a small image of the region. But the catch is that you can put any number and corresponding region, no matter where your live, so when I registered the car to my name I chose 974, for the Réunion island. A place I've never been to, but that I find inspiring, and the logo is nicer than the one for the Ile-de-France region. And at least when I'm outside of my region, nobody will call me "ugly Parisian".

Quoting Aesma (Reply 20): It means someone is attached to the island of Corsica.
It is also the symbol of the FLNC (National Liberation Front of Corsica), a terrorist group which wanted to sever ties with France and has been responsible for a number of bombings and shootouts since the 70s. Whenever I saw that symbol (usually on crappy old french cars) I was always tempted to ask the person if he knows what it means.
It's kind of like driving around Europe with a swastika on your car. You may think it means good luck from the old Hindu usage, but it unfortunately has come to mean other things.

Well I kind of inherited my brothers car since he is shipping off to Army Basic training. He has an army strong bumper sticker, a Boston Bruins bumper sticker (which is being removed as soon as I get home) on the window, and a Hartford Whalers sticker. I'm getting a big UND Fighting Sioux Head decal to put on the rear window. Have to support my school, and it looks cool!
