Bomb explosion hits Italy school
A bomb exploded in front of a school in southern Italy today, killing a 16 year-old girl and wounding at least six others, two seriously, authorities have confirmed
The explosion, near the entrance of a girls' school named after the wife of murdered anti-Mafia judge Giovanni Falcone, occurred as pupils were preparing to enter the school at the start of the school day, which in Italy includes Saturdays.
Authorities said two gas canisters appear to have been placed in rubbish containers at the school, which local media said was located near the main court in Brindisi, a port city located in Apulia, on the "heel" of Italy.

Looking at La Stampa newspaper online.
Brindisi - bomb blast in front of a school. One girl was killed. Another girl is in critical condition.
Seven are injured/wounded.
Today the anti-mafia caravan was expected in town.
The headmaster "they wanted to kill". The Mayor "this is criminality".
Minsiter Cancellieri "this is not a typical mafia act" "no anticipated diagnosis"
Three gas cylinders with different triggers were found in front of the Institute "Morvillo-Falcone". The victim was 16.

First of all, we have to determine if this was the act of the traditional 'Mafia' or some other non-Mafia connected criminal, terroristic or sick individual act (like the wing-nut in Norway last year). If it can be determined to be Mafia connected, then this may mean a huge reaction.
The 'mafia', or what is left of it, has become more desperate, violent and stupid in it's perverse style. Until the last 20 or so years when Italy, Canada and the USA really started to destroy the Mafia, there were weird codes that you didn't hurt anyone but a member or someone directly involved with their criminal enterprises - wives, children, judges, police and innocent public persons were off limits. That is long gone and I suspect as with the murder of Judges in the past in Italy, this de facto terrorist attack will cause further and massive actions against the remains of the Mafia there.

Following the track of Sacra Corona Unita (local mafia group/secret society)
The timer that actioned the bomb was found.
MILAN-a message from the Sacra Corona Unita. Investigators are following the track of the local organized crime for the assassination on Saturday morning in Brindisi where a bomb packed with three LPG cylinders fixed on a wall exploded behind a dumpster of trash in front of the gate of the Falcone Morvillo professional school.
