When we last left the original "TWFirst" thread, there were 305 posts. It became clear it was becoming too cumbersome to load for most folks. Here's a summary of that 3-month-long conversation...
- SKYTEAM started it all, explaining that he had been banned for awhile due to a fight with one of the resident homophobes.
- CstarU conspired to keep the thread on top, much to the chagrin of yours truly. After Cstar pretended to be Lucifer 666, the "Heaven's Gate" cult leader, and OJ Simpson (among others), I acquiesced. Enjoying his wit and banter, I begrudgingly assumed the role of thread host.
- CTBarnes provided insight, spiritual guidance, and revealed his love for intoxicating beverages and naked natives pictures from the National Geographic.
- Lindy shared stories from his relentless nationwide pursuit of cheap women, booze, and blow-up dolls.
- Trvlr & DeltaRNOmd80 talked about their efforts to watch boobie channels on cable.
- Polaris shared his Canadian joy and love with us all.
- NWA Man and I talked about a great Vikings game, and spotting at MSP.
- Fanoftristars joined us, talking about his life in UT.
- LH423 helped contibute to the healthy doses of sexual innuendo sprinkled throughout the thread, and shared his thoughts on November.
- SKYTEAM popped in once in a while to say "hey."
- Our old friend N863DA stopped by of course, and he and I talked about trying to meet up in FL at some point.
- Surf, 777YYC, TravelinMan and Dk all made humorous contributions.
- Meister808, TurboTristar, LFO and 747-600X jumped on the bandwagon.
- Tbar220 promised to print the whole damn thing out and read it one day.
- TWAneedsNOhelp said hi at some point (I think).
- Trvlr just HAD to put the thread over the 300 post mark.
- AND OF COURSE, Brissie Lions had to pop in and tell us how wonderful Australia is (can you say penU.S. envy??? )
AND NOW FOR THE CONTINUING SAGA OF...
"TWFirst: Conversation thread of the airliners.net's open-minded but bored pursuers of knowledge, boody, and mindless chit-chat"

Here are the last five posts from Vol. I (for those who missed where the conversation left off):
You cheated, you posted twice in a row...I want a manual recount!!!
Might as well post here, haven't done it in awhile (post that is).
P.S. Aloha TW, Waddascoop brah? Maui was ono! Mahalo. Sorry, can't still get rid of my Pidgen Hawaiian.
CSTAR!!!! You're back!!! I thought maybe you had found a little tiki statue on the beach in Hawaii and it brought you bad luck and then a giant tarantula crawled on your chest while you were sleeping and then Greg wiped out while surfing and then Vincent Price kidnapped you and tied you up in a cave and Alice and Mike and Carol were looking for you... or something like that. Anyways, glad you're back. Would love to hear some stories.
OK, where do I start...
Brissie: Of course. I should have known Australia would have nice weather in some region during winter. How could I have even thought there would be something imperfect about your storied continent-nation.
BTW, the contiguous 48 states are slightly larger than Australia. When you add Alaska, we're much larger (not that I'm a size queen or anything).
Ben: Howdy dude. Did you make sure your chad was punched all the way through?? We were in FLL the weekend before Thanksgiving, and will be returning Dec. 21 through New Years. Guess I'll miss you. However, I already have trips booked in Jan (the weekend of the 18th, I think), Feb (weekend of the 22nd) and March (weekend of the 22nd). Eventually, I'm sure we'll cross paths. Christmas in the UK sounds fun. We're excited about spending our first Xmas in FL. I assume you're flying DL to the UK.
It's 12:17 a.m. and I'm up because I can't sleep, although I need to get up early. My allergies are bothering me a bit too. I got online to check and see if my Elite1 status with TWA has been processed yet (I'm such a geek). My flight last Sat. put me over the top, so I'm excited to be an Elite1 (equivalent to gold level in other programs). I'm also excited that TW is supposedly going to be announcing a bunch of great news either today or tomorrow concerning new codeshare agreements and widebody orders.
OK, I'm going to try and go to sleep now. I'm sure glad we have a T1 line at work and DSL at home, otherwise it would take forever for this thread to load. What should we do? Should we start a new "TWFirst" and continue?
...Cow tippin, no. There aint no cows cuz there's soybeans everywhere and so cows don't have no grass to eat (or smoke).
How about lysine fed Dwayne Andreas tippin'? Are their name still in high regards down there?
I've been back a week, but has a family emergency to attend to, so I can't hang around here (forum) very much. When things settle down I'll be back with a vengeance.
Anyway, Hawaii was great. I spent five nights in Maui and one night in Honolulu. I'll try to post some pictures of my trip in this thread as soon as I set up my personal web page. We have to keep your name on top, you know.
regards and goodnight,
Actually, I think it was Dwayne's son who got tipped over a few years ago (he and another dude are in the pokey for that incident you referenced). As far as their name (ADM) being in high regard, after the Firestone incident, ANY other company is held in high regard, including the Soy City Motel.
Looking forward to details. Sorry to hear about the family emergency.
Will be in Chicago for 24 hours this weekend (MDW). I'll be thinking of you (but not in a homosexual way).
Great to have you back with us Cstar! Sounds like Hawaii was great fun.
Hope your family's OK! Sorry to hear something happened.
Anyhow, I think a TWFirst Vol. II thread would be a good idea. I'm on a University LAN and it still can take up to 5 minutes for this thread to load!

Yes, I should clarify for the sake of your reputation that you mentioned your penchant for National Geographic's photography was in your adolescent days long ago (long, long ago ), before you were called by the bottle OOPS I mean by the Lord.

I'm embarresed to say that I read the thread a lot, it was very entertaining however I never contributed. But I do have to say that I thought the thread was a really cool and a unique idea. I mean its weird thinking about everyone posting all of these things on the internet, but its really great. Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and share my thoughts.
TWFirst, the second volume or whatever is a brilliant idea!
Lindy, are you going to conqure more of the west any time soon?

Welcome aboard! It's a little bit of everything here. Call it the cocktail party portion of the Airliners.net forum. Spend some time reading the posts and you'll get the hang of it. It's really a lot of fun.
In the meantime, I'm impressed Tzvika that you have the whole thing downloaded for posterity. If you're smart you'll be looking for a publisher.
As for Lindy, well, don't do anything I wouldn't do...

Trvlr & DeltaRNOmd80,
Have you guys tried the Pornstar 9000 to watch scrambled porn channels? It works really well with all cable companies and can order pizza as well! Don't try that 10 dollar one you make with Radio Shack parts though it doesn't work.
Or if you really want something interesting get a DSS satelitle and watch the Eastcoast broadcast & then the West!

Yes, you DO need help Donna . Yes, we should defintiely meet if you're going to be down there from Feb. 23-26!
Tbar220: You asked whether I had the most posts on the site. I think you are referring to the original thread entitled "TWFirst" as opposed to my own personal number of posts. I would just like to clarify to all that the original thread and this thread aren't about me. They just happen to have my username as the title because the original thread started out as a message from SKYTEAM to me. Rather, this thread is an outlet for all member who wish to cybersocialize and spew intellectual fodder. CTBarnes is correct in his description: imagine us all standing around with some music in the background sipping on martinis or Heinekins or something (for the underaged, substitute a cola beverage). BH346, perhaps you can think of it as the "Seinfeld" thread of airliner.net: a thread about nothing .
Now where the hell is CstarU???
Hey, here's a bit of personal news. So John (partner) calls me up last night (we don't live together) all excited because he got a cruise brochure in the mail and there's a fabulous itinerary he thinks we would love. We weren't planning to do another cruise for a couple years (we just went on one in 1999). BUT, it IS a fabulous itinerary, it's over Labor Day weekend so we'd only have to take four days of vacation, and it isn't outrageously expensive, especially if we can figure out a way to use frequent flier mile to fly free. Check it out:
Leaves from Barcelona, goes to Monaco, Rome, Sorrento, Malta, Mykonos, and then ends in Athens. So I'm already checking out flight itineraries. The thing that kind of stinks is that it'll be an open-jaw trip: into Barcelona and back from Athens. Lots of airline choices. Any suggestions?

Hey B! We will be there from Feb.17-24 so this might work out! Will mostly be in the Orlando area but are renting a car and wouldn't mind driving down to FLL, so maybe Friday night drinks at.......?? Will keep in touch!

That itinerary sounds terriric. I'm envious! As to flight details, BA used to have a deal going for US residents where if you fly with them to London, you can add additional European segments for about $100.00 each. Might be worth checking out. Also, your cruise line may be able to throw in the air poriton of your trip for a competitive price. You might not be able to choose the airline, but it could save you some money.
The "Seinfeld" thread. Hmmm. I like that description, although I would probably be sipping a gin and tonic rather than a martini.
Well, got to get back to work. One of the older Fathers had an extra ticket to the Symphony tonight, so I have to show a little productivity so I don't feel too guilty about enjoying myself this evening.
