New drama film starring Denzel Washington as a "SunJet" MD-80 PIC.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb86ZQDInss

Seems pretty accurate with the 2x3 cabin and MD-80 flight deck. Though the digital screens appear to be too big. It's also interesting to see the MD-80 is wingletted.

Harkens back to Alaska Airlines 261 almost identically what with the sudden loss of altitude at FL30 and "rolling over." Chilling, for sure.

Can a mod move this to the correct forum?

The only weird thing is that the MD-80 has winglets. The cabin has AA coach seats with the older style overhead bins. It seems like a mix of an Alaska 261 with a United 232 or US Airways 1549 outcome. Denzel says "brace for impact" a la Sully.

Quoting ghifty (Thread starter):
New drama film starring Denzel Washington as a "SunJet" MD-80 PIC.

Looks pretty good and btw, the fictional name of the airline in the movie is South Jet not SunJet.

Could it be a copyright/trademark issue with Boeing? Remember how the producers of 'Pan Am' had to tweek the CGI generated 707s due to a lack of consent from Boeing and P&W.

I saw the preview for this on a layover the other night...it looks good...for airplane lovers and earth people.

First Pehlam 123, then Unstoppable, now Flight. Danzel is attracted to transportation themes for sure.

Hm. That's actually a possibility.. on the PW note, if you look at the engines of the MD-80 they appear to be over-sized.

Glad to find this thread as I wanted to view the nit-picking of the aircraft in the movie.

The plane pictured in the movie poster appears to have 4 contrails, but that plane appears to have two engines, so I guess that's just the way contrails "move" in the air....
