I use Google Chrome on my Win 7, HP G60 Series.
Lately Google started defaulting from English to the local countries language, where I am currently stationed. I will be here for the time being.
Let's say this first : I have nothing agaisnt the language and this beautiful country, however it throws me off when Chrome does not work in US English.

I have tried changing Settings (clicked on the little wrench tool), but some features, such as, "Under the Hood" and "Options" aren't there no more.

Is there anything that can/could/would be done? I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks, mates.

Try this. Go to Settings -> Show Advanced Settings -> Languages -> Make sure English (US) or whatever your preference is, is the first in the list

If you're talking about google search, then the parameters are on the website, not in chrome.

If you want the search language to be always English then try this

1. Right Click the Address Bar and select "Edit Search Engine"
2. Highlight the Google (default) and click Edit.
3. Highlight the URL and copy it (ctrl + c). Then click Cancel.
4. Click Add, enter Name like "Google English" and put anything in Keyword, it won't matter.
5. Paste in the URL the one you copied and change {google:baseURL} to http://www.google.com/
6. Click OK and Make Default.

Followed the steps, but it didn't work... The only way i found out Google will open in English, is using a VPN (I have Hot Spot Shield).
Thanks anyway though.
Cheers

UPDATE :
Apparently google.com is no more and your browser will be automatically redirected to whatever country you are in. So, i found this solution : google.com/ncr - NCR meaning, No Country Redirest. Bingo!

G'day, ya'll...

I'm in South America for a few weeks and was trying to figure out how to resolve this very issue. I can't believe I had to come to an aviation forum to figure out how to get a piece of software to work. Thanks!

Now I have another question related to a Chrome issue I've been having: How do you get Chrome to dump all cookies when exiting EXCEPT those from the sites listed under "Manage Exceptions"? I have a handful of sites on the exceptions list, such as airliners.net and Google itself, but when I exit Chrome and go back to those sites, I have to log in fresh every time. It's as if Chrome is ignoring what I've listed in the exceptions list. Very frustrating as IE has this capability and it works like a charm but as of yet Chrome can't do this. Any suggestions?

I hear you. Google has changed. Damn them. the only way i could think of fixing this, would be in Settings.
Click the wrench icon and then :
SETTINGS, then Advanced Settings + Privacy and then Content Settings. Choose the best option under Cookies.
Hope that'll help ya.
cheers
