What Do You Do When You Go To The Gym?

Hi!

Apologies if this is a really boring topic but thought I'd ask what people do when they go to the gym to work out or work out in the open. I just came back and I did 20 minutes jogging, 10 minutes cycling, 10 minutes rowing, 20 lengths of the pool and then sat in the jacuzzi a while. I take it all pretty easy and don't really push myself though but this is pretty much my routine which I do variations on.

So for those who want who go to the gym or work out by jogging in the open or something do you have a routine of any kind you like?

Many thanks,

Pierre

Cycling?

Get a real bike  Much nicer having the wind in your hair.

All seriousness though, while I ride a bike I do still go to the gym for upper body strength. It's 25 quid a month and I get swimming included too.

I'm on week 4 of a 12 week cycle. I typically do 2 days in a row of lifting then one off for recovery. On the days I'm in the gym I focus on specific muscle groups. Triceps and chest one day, back and biceps another, or legs etc. After working out in the gym I finish off with 20-25min. of cardio. Also my diet consists of many small meals throughout the day to keep my metabolism going. In just these 4 weeks I've lost about 10lbs.

Tredmill and core. I usually do 3.5 miles and crunches in various positions. Sometimes arms, but mostly just tredmill and core. It has been hot here the past few days, so I don't go outside. I like biking but when the temperature is reasonable (85F or below).

Sometimes all you can do is look them in the eye and ask " how much did your mom drink when she was pregnant with you?"

LOL!

I normally just go running (4-8 miles) and I cycle with my brother every other weekend (mountain bike, Red route at doulby forest) and when the weather is good I cycle by myself on the road bike (20-50miles). I can't handle the gym, I like being outdoors.

That's my problem - I love riding outside but it only works your legs, and if I want to shift my man boobs and my gut I have to use a gym.

Christ, I sound like I'm 40... I'm 20 in 4 weeks!

Swim a thousand meters (for now, hoping to swim much more), then spend 10 minutes in the steam sauna, then shower and go home.

Roughly 1 hour on the treadmill + 60 push-ups and sit ups.

If weather permits, go for a jog outside or play football (soccer to you yanks).

Very strange routine for me as I'm recovering from a motorbike accident:

MORNING (7 days a week unless I have some other committment):
- Between 2 and 4 hours of leg exercises in the swimming pool;

EARLY AFTERNOON (5-6 times a week):
- Starting again with an upper body routine split into 5 sessions;
- Few leg and core exercises (still with very little weight);
- Stopped doing stationary bike as I increased the time in the pool and it's less boring;

AFTERNOON (4-5 times a week):
- TENS (I don't think it's working anyway;

EVENING (7 days a week):
- Between 40 minutes and two hours (depending on the pain) of walking in the open air.

5x5 bench press
5x5 bar bell row

Workout B

I usually do 15 minutes of jogging to warm up, about 45 minutes of strength training, and 10 minutes of cardio to "cool down". Since the routines vary by month (and I haven't gone in a while to the gym), it depends on the personal trainer and my needs.

Ok...lets rephrase....Legs....

I find weight training helps to burn fat much faster..........Im just 3kgs away from my ideal weight target & hope to achieve it next month.

Trying to stay lean & fit.helps in work.
