Their best period IMO - sorry I never saw them with Mick. I did see him twice though. Once with Alvin Lee (Ten Years After guitarist) they opened for Black Sabbath believe it or not. The other time was with John Mayall around 1983 or so.

In fairness, they are no different than any other band of their era - The Beatles, The Who, Fleetwood Mac and so on - its just that they have managed to survive somehow, literally and as a band. Do you think the bands of today are any different. Take a band like MGMT, their top hit Time To Pretend is about what?
I dont condone their lifestyle, but they do it because they can. Honestly, the whole reason I did not go into music against many peoples advise was because I know I would do the same even though I know very much better.
