As the old thread showed problems, we've decided to open up a new thread.
We are currently more than 20 attendees. Thus two groups for the DOCK-B tour will be formed...
Here the old thread starting post and attending list:
Hi all!
The ZRH-A.NET MEET 2012 will be hold at Saturday, August 25th.
The program so far:
- We meet from 9.30 onwards at the entrance to the new terrace on top of the brand new Dock-B.
- Then, we will take the shuttle at 11.00 or earlier to Dock-E from the new visitor terrace on Dock-B (see the departure of the SIA A380 at approx. 12.00)
- After taking the shuttle bus back to the terrace on Dock-B, we will jump at 13.30 on a tour bus. The bus tour will take us to the several Docks as well as to RWY 14 and the world famous runway cross 16/34-10/28.
- This tour will be finished between 14.45 to 15.00 (depending on current departure traffic)
- The second tour takes us at 17.00 into the brand new Dock-B! We will see Dock-B and its inner things on a way, like normally only passengers will see. Even some more “behind the scenes” will be revealed on this tour. The tour will be finished at approx. 18.30.
The price for the tour without the shuttle to Dock-E is CHF 17, -- (please count with additional CHF 4, -- four the shuttle to Dock-E).
A new restaurant on the terrace Dock-B will provide selected foods and drinks. More food is available at the food court or at Migros, in the close by airport shopping center.
The tours through Dock-B are limited to 20 persons for each tour group. The less people we are, the higher will rise up the price. It’s an old game, like always before. So, to keep this price so low, we should be either 20, or even 40 attendees.
Here some reminders:
- Do not forget your binoculars, cameras and radio scanners (ATC-scanners are allowed in Switzerland)!
- Please consider that we will enter the airside of the airport. Bring your passport or ID with you! You and your luggage will be x-rayed. Do not bring any knifes, or sharp tools and stuff like this with you. The airport security will not allow taking these items with you on the visitor terraces.
- Please stay within the fence (especially at the runway cross) all the time!
- Bring some rain coat or umbrella, in case the weather is not with us.
IMPORTANT:
Please sign only up, after you made sure that you will definitely attend the whole meet! It is only possible to book the complete meet.
I will keep you informed regarding the payment, as soon as we know more about how many people have sign up by June 30th.

Quoting MH017 (Reply 3): or strong cold winds, like in Tegel
Those will be back next June when TXL will close (2nd attempt); this is based on recent reports that BER likely will not be able to open in MAR 2013 ...

Any confirmations yet? I should confirm the total amount by Monday to ZRH...
With only 6 days to go before the meeting (and ZRH not exactly being a LCC-destination offering affordable fares last minute) I think it is fairly unlikely that we will see participation from the two guys on "Mulling it over"-list coming from abroad.
Taking into account the financial aspect of having either one or two tour guides for the tour of Dock B, I strongly suggest to go for the (financial) safe option and confirm only 20 participants to Unique (or whatever their current company name is).
Seeing that there currently are 21 participants on the "Confirmed"-list, I officially am volunteering to refrain from joining the "Dock B Tour" if all 21 confirmed participants should actually show up, thus limiting the group size to 20.

Please do not take this so serious. It is basically that ZRH needs the confirmation on how many attendees will be there.
I think one or two more might not be a problem.
