Hi there.

I don't know who Steve Ling is, however, regarding the top 200 richest Australians...the man who owns Qantas (I forget his name, he reminds me of a blonde Mick Jagger) is probably one of them.

Can't find anything about Steve Ling -- but there is an article about how the 140 richest people in Australia only paid $41,000 in taxes.

A few weeks ago, either BRW or the Bulletin posted their annual list - you can probably access it easily enough. Can't help with Steve Ling - sorry.

Could anybody help me with the BRW online edition? It seems that the list is not online and only in the print issue.

Kerry Packer and Rupert Murdoch are the richest. (Even though Rupert is an American citizen...something he had to do to acquire Fox TV). Right up there would also be Kerry Stokes. And not to mention Eddy McGuire  Smile

The 200 richlist is online at

http://www.brw.com.au/brwlists/Richlist/20020523/frameset.asp

There are many amazing stories in the BRW Rich 200, but the collective story is also remarkable. The richest 200 people in Australia are worth a combined $64.88 billion, up 7.4% from $60.42 billion last year. Those on the list - from Kerry Packer at number one to David Coe at number 200 - hold nearly 2% of the total wealth of all Australians. Although there have been some speculator falls from grace, with former members of the Rich 200 such as Jodee Rich, Brad Keeling and Rodney Adler departing the list, an overwhelming majority of members have improved their position. Of the 174 people who have remained on the Rich 200 since last year, 122 have increased their wealth, 43 have seen their fortunes decline, and nine have held steady. The average wealth of the Rich 200 members has risen from $302 million to $324 million over the past year.

And on it goes.

At the top of the frameset are some drop down menus for you to use. There is a short bio on each person on the list.

This should answer your questions.

BTW...who the hell is Steve Ling?
