Anyone Wonder What It Will Look Like In 2016?

I didn't want to mention this on the other thread (and wander "off topic")...........

I went to see a great new movie today; (at noon, no less !) Every senior citizen within 50 miles of Terre Haute was lined up all the way around the block, waiting for it to start ! "2016 The Movie" If you like Obama, you WON"T like this movie;
if you despise Obama........you'll get quite a few more reasons to despise him even more. To be fair though, I really think everyone should go see it. I think after enough people see this movie, we may be seeing our first Indian candidate for the job currently held by the pretender-in-chief.

Oddly enough, Denesh DiSousa didn't say anything "unkind" (or untrue) about Obama; just interviewed his brother, showed pictures of some of his "friends", asked some questions ..............

Has anyone else seen it yet ?

They just despise anything about Hollywood and the film industry until something comes out from their agenda, interesting.

As far as me, if I get the sudden urge for an infomercial, i'll just stick to Shamwow and Bosley at 3:30.

If what i've read is correct, some part of the movie is:

-Find something that Obama father wrote, the man he met once in his life, -"governments should have the ability to tax their citizens up to 100 percent"

-Step 2: someone tie this into Obama saying 'fair share'.

I guess this kind of moronic 'logic' (in the loosest form) is indicative of the film.

Looks like mindless babble from a wannabe psychchologist. A regular old Freud. I'm surprised he didn't call Obama gay for liking bananas.

What a crock full of unmitigated bullshit.

I'm sure you loved it.

If you want to think about what 2016 would look like be bi-partisan. Include Willard Mitt Romney,

First the elderly is really going to be getting the shaft. All those promises about only shafting folks under 55? Gee, that would have been nice, but once in office they would "discover" reasons for screwing Social Security and Medicare immediately.

So step one: lowering the life expectancy in the US. We already have over 20 countries delivering better outcomes than the US, let's add a few.

Also make a projection of how the middle class will continue to shrink.

And the number in the top 1% of the top 1% that pays no taxes.

Look for lower funding of education, lowering the standards even more than today. And look for the need to hire teachers who don't have a college degree because kids are getting smart: why pay out a fortune to become a teacher only to be shafted?

Technology will continue to advance, as will medicine. Unfortunately more and more employers will dump the unnecessary costs of nanny care. Oooops! the middle class will be shrinking even more. But you will be able to get the $4 Generic Prescriptions at WalMart.

Prices of cars will continue to rise to stupid levels, but you will be able to get an 84 month (or 96 month) loan.

Oh, we will still be in Afghanistan, will have increased troops in Iraq and there is a "Light At The End of the Tunnel" for all 3 wars. (We discovered that Iran didn't actually have WMDs either, but we are really proud of our troops there.

It's amazing how anyone can have so many negative opinions about something they have never seen, read, or heard !

It would be interesting if you would explain how you are able to do this; is it "mental telepathy", or is it just "genius level intellect'?

One thing is for sure; I only saw one theater in one town in one state; it's showing to packed houses all over the U.S.
You can rant on all day long if it makes you feel better; but the fact remains, many people at this late date have yet to make up their minds who they intend to vote for in November; All of the name calling, all of the "pooh poohing" when you hear the truth has no affect on anyone.

When your "choice" has zero accomplishments, zero workable ideas as to how to make things better, I suppose you have to do ..........."something"; call the other side stupid, scream that "it's all George Bush's fault", (and resign yourself to watch Mitt Romney get inaugurated in January)

The problem is that you and many others are not "hearing the truth" instead they are hearing what they want to hear and continuing to divide the nation. If you were truly a patriot you would also attend movie on the "other point of view" and become informed and drop any irrational thoughts that the President can be a danger to the nation. It's like the thread on the whackjob "judge" (he's not a Jurist) suggesting that the UN is going to come in and that the country is danger of civil war

You mention "workable ideas" but not a single idea is workable without compromise. By both sides. And if you are thinking that the Ryan budget is "the workable idea" you really need to go and read it and understand that it too is only workable if there is compromise and assistance from both "sides" of the aisle. It can be a starting point but it is not "a end".

But then I am sure I am just a uninformed person just mouthing off about things I know nothing about.

Oh yes, the truth.

Sit there with a straight face and tell me the majority of that 'film' was one mans thinly veiled attempt at playing some quack child psychologist with the worst intentions making asinine 'connections' to some quotes.

I guess Obama shouldn't be President because he only met his father once and his mom got hot and heavy with some Indonesian guy. If this crap is the worst you can say about him, maybe you think he's doing well after all.

Well, let's see:

Eight years of the GOP and we have a country about to collapse. An Ego War, housing bust, financial crisis, etc.

The Great Recession heading rapidly to The Great Depression II.

Other trivial issues? How about health insurance premiums doubling?

How about more Americans killed in that Ego War than in 9/11?

Now we have less than 4 years of a Democrat in the White House.

With the GOP so upset that they decide to be the Party of No - being against everything Obama talked about.

http://swampland.time.com/2012/08/23...on-the-gop-plot-to-obstruct-obama/

But there is some success.

Start with the Health Care Reform. Now a child cannot be denied insurance because of an existing condition. And very shortly that will be the case for adults.

We have a mandate to get insurance and government support for those who need help getting it. We need to remember all those times that health costs went up because of so many people who couldn't pay their bills. NOW, with the mandate that excuse is lost and costs (payments) can be reduced. Romney's Mandate is going to help cut costs - yet he wants to kill that his first day in office.

Obama also stopped the massive job losses. Remember that Bikini Graph?

Out of Iraq. OBL Killed, along with a lot of other Terrorists Leaders

Workabe ideas?

Like Romney spending more efforts hiding his tax returns than delivering something specific on the economy. Well, we do know he will lower taxes at the top, paid for by the middle class.

We also know that he will be as fast to invade Iran as Cheney was to invade Iraq. (Wonder how much Haliburton has donated to Willard's campaign.)

But keep hoping. If you're rich you'll be delighted at the tax cuts Romney will give you. Otherwise be ready for some major surprises once Romney is told what to do in office.

I saw it today. Second weekend, and the place was completely packed. Like a Harry Potter on opening night - I was astounded.

I thought the movie was pretty good. He makes no unfounded accusations, but examines his background, his parents, grandparents, and the people he was known to hang out with. It's a compelling case - It's up to you to decide if there is something in it or not.

Unlike 911, you don't have a lit of quick editing, indicative of taking things out of context. You don't have the angry outrage that Moore puts out. Just the facts, and the stories from people who knew him or his parents.

As far as what 2016 is going to look like, The danger to America is not Obama but the citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of his presidency (and that in itself won't be easy) than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

There seems to be no limit to the tribalism of some people, and it isn't Obama's father (whatever D'Souza claims to the contrary). It's precisely the opposite. It's D'Souza and the chest-beating self-proclaimed patriots who would like to take America in the direction of unreflective might-makes-right bullying.

Thanks, but this movie reminds me of why it is so so important to make sure that whatever Obama's failings (some his own fault, some the result of an obstructive opposition), he gets another four years. Otherwise, we will have fundamentalist, anti-intellectual (read: anti-intelligence), warmongering blowhards with absolutely no understanding of history or science in control.

Scary. And the scariest part is that if he does get re-elected, the same attitudes will still be a threat in 2016...

Exactly both sides will say the same thing about each other sides movies. I have no seen 2016 but I have seen all of the Micheal Moore BS too. I just wonder if the liberals think Micheal Moore's stuff is fantastic and down to the truth. I can't imagine it is worse that Moore's stuff that stuff was a joke. Also from my personal experience liberals tend to say oh you have to see (insert stupid left movie) but If I said, well have you see (insert right movie) they say of course not, that is trash. I find that from personal experience not everyone, the conservatives/center right people I know will go ahead

Agreed, is America really going to be fooled again by him? It is going to be a close race IMO. But sometimes I just can't imagine America doing it again. I understand what happened in 2008, it was a Bush hating, Palin sucked election. It was a perfect storm for President Obama. But now after seeing him work for 4 years, it is just hard to believe people in this country will give him another 4 years and this time he can do whatever he wants.

Can he, though? The House will stay Republican. And while I don't think the Senate will change, there's a chance that it could. So how is he going to be able to do anything he wants without control of Congress?

The time for Obama to do whatever he wanted was the first two years when the Democrats had both the Senate and the House. That time is over, and it's not coming back (which is fine by me - I feel uncomfortable anytime one party holds both Congress and the White House). So your fears are really just unsubstantiated paranoia.

Thank you Dreadnought ! That's the first reply to this thread so far that makes any sense ! On second thought, flymia made some good points in replies #14 and #18 One thing is for sure.........when you point out to libs where they're in danger of losing control, they sure get rattled !

One thing is for sure...........whether this movie is any good or not really isn't the point; it has already served one very important function..........the mere mention of it has caused all of the Obama supporters to go "nuts" ! just reading all of the replies so far proves that better than I ever could ! If you really think Obama has performed so well, why are you so worried ? Why are you so worried that someone doesn't agree with you ? You can call me names all day long........it doesn't bother me in the least; and it surely doesn't change anything; and all of this name calling, ranting on and on about how "good" your guy is, and how "bad" Romney is ? What you need to be worried about is.............about half the people who "agreed" with you in 2008 have now "seen the light", and have "jumped ship" ! Frankly, I really don't care WHO beats Obama; BTW......I really don't think Denesh D'Sousa has any illusions about getting elected to anything; I think he is a prime example of a talented, brilliant young man who has come to this country, realized it has far more opportunity than his homeland, and has decided it's a better place to live. I also think it's quite remarkable that someone from India has had the guts to do what no one from this country has done so far ! ( While I'm on the subject, I also think he wore some very pretty shirts in the movie ! )

Nope, can't have it both ways. If you want people to watch it (even those that don't agree with the premise), you cannot claim that "packed houses" as some sort of victory over the "libs".

In fact, it's a logical fallacy to assume that just because people go to see something, they automatically like it.
