So who among you alluring young men don't mind pocketting that substantial fortune (enough to buy a small private jet and pay for its upkeep) in winning the hand of a fair maiden? It won't be a walk in the park as she has same-sex leanings (to put it mildly) but should any of you here succeed in doing so though knowing of it here, just buy me a first class airticket to your wedding.

ps. just google "Gigi Chao" to view pics of the lady.

Heck, for that money, she can move to SF with me. She can pursue her lesbian side and I can stay with my hubby. Heck, maybe we can give all the "social conservatives" a kick in the teeth by my marrying her and my husband marrying her wife. Perfectly legal! Westboro Baptist Church would *hate* it if they found out.

And when daddy shows up for dinner, well, we put on our wedding rings, act all lovey-dovey, and life is happy.

Hmm, but it does look promising for Doc. From the picture it wouldn't take much more than dimming the lights, quaffing a strong IPA, and Doc could easily convince himself he wasn't straying from his home team one bit.

But Doc, you gotta spread that wealth amongst the SF A.net community. You go sister!!

I like the "Fatherly Love Vocabulary" after the article (some of the funnier ones included):

Fatherly Love Vocabulary

lesbian - when a woman loves another woman (See Wikipedia)
win the heart of his lesbian daughter

marry off - when parents find the right man (or here any man) to marry their daughter

intimate - a close relationship such as boyfriend and girlfriend (often involving sex)
intimate relations

homosexual - men having romantic love relationships with other men (women with other women)
homosexuality - the condition of being a homosexual (See Wikipedia)

partner - someone such as husband or wife that you live with and have love relationship with
same-sex partner

10,000 is the number of women this Chinese tycoon father has loved before.

playboy (lifestyle) - a man who has love relationships with many women, also called a "casanova" or "Don Juan" (See Wikipedia)

talents - being skilled at doing things (example: musical and singing talents)
looks - being beautiful (women) or handsome (men), looking good

reject - not accept
rejected false - reports not accept and believe what people say

claimed to have had intimate relations with 10,000 women

reportedly once claimed to have had intimate relations with 10,000 women

"Two and a Half Men" was filmed in front of a live ostrich.

Nope, if you google her name, the woman in question is the taller, feminine one. The other one with the glasses is her partner.

Well if it's the cute one then who has this tycoon's email address? I doubt my wife would pause for even a fraction of a second at adding to our posse for $65M.

Uhm... There's a catch, you know. She has to like you and actually want to marry you!

So, who's manly enough to turn a lesbian straight?

The sad story here is that the old guy seems very (very) ashamed that his daughter is gay. Sad for him.

Perhaps its his karma for having indulged in 10k women as alleged?

If she´d let you....!

While newspaper articles state that in the past she had dated both men and women, I doubt any of us will have a chance.

I had this experience before in university, where I met some nice girls, but they were all strictly lipstick lesbians, so out off bounds

No, it would just be a commune. Seriously, why don´t you discretely suggest it to her? Only problem is that in a few years the parents would want to see grandchildren.

She is very pretty I think. She is already married to a woman.
I don't see how the father will get her to marry a man. She would have to divorce the "wife" first.

I'm not. I'd be legally married to one woman, you know, all sacred-like, just like our Republican overlords want us to be. Doesn't mean we have to live in the same house.

Since I can't legally marry my hubby, I would not technically be polygamous.

You might to have to,just in case FIL and MIL come visiting on short notice. But who says that your hubby and her Missus won´t be able to live in the same house as well, provided it is large enough (for 40 million you should be able to get a decent sized mansion with plenty of privacy).

This is true. We could have an enormous mansion with separate apartments within that mansion for that kind of money. And their dogs are really cute.

It is very sad the apparent 'playboy' father of this woman is using his wealth to force her to go 'straight'. I suspect part of it is cultural, that wants a grandson by his daughter, maybe he has no sons (he knows of), to pass his wealth on to or is just a narrow minded fool. And some of you guys that would do a phony marriage for the money are not much better than the father. I hope she has enough guts to reject her father's demands and is happy in her same-sex relationship. Remember, money doesn't buy happiness.

or Kim Jong Il.

I'll take the $65 million an marry his average looking daughter but I'd have a difficult time with those little, annoying, yappy Yorkshire Terrier dogs.
As for her 'wife', I can easily convince some obsessive Beatles fan to take her and say he is as good as John Lennon.

To be serious (for a brief moment), I think the central theme here is that here we have a very wealthy man who thinks he has a problem. The problem is that his daughter isn't falling into line and he's not used to people not falling into line for him. He's a tycoon, after all.

So what's a tycoon's solution to any truly vexing problem? Throw money at it! Not "pray away the gay," but "pay away the gay." And it will be ineffective. He'll learn that it's ineffective, but it will be a very expensive lesson.

25 jetblueguy22 : What is the Chinese view on gay marriage? Is it legal there? I know HK is a special area but I'm not overly familiar with the laws. That'd be somethin
26 MD11Engineer : I did a little bit of googling and it seems that the one who is really upset is her mother. Probably the thought of not having grandchildren some day
27 Superfly : You're right. But for $65,000,000.00, I'll play along. She isn't that bad looking.
28 aerorobnz : Superfly. he's the guy for the job...
29 Post contains images Superfly : Haha! I'll just take the $65million and pretend to be married. She can still have her girlfirend.
30 francoflier : As long as she doesn't steal yours, right?
31 Superfly : It appears that me & her have totally opposite taste in women so I wouldn't be concerned about that at all.
