Apparently a video of then US Senator Obama in 2007 to an almost all Black audience has come out, one that rightwinders are promoting out there big time, originally posted on DailyCaller.com, headlined on Drudge Report.com (it was allegedly also posted or to be posted soon on Huffington Post.com). The video says that racism was behind the terrible lack of response to Katrina, riots in LA and making Blacks victims, pauses Rev. White and generally is seen as anti-White. Here is a link to this video and a related article:
http://dailycaller.com/2012/10/02/ob...speech-jeremiah-wright-new-orleans

I guess Romney's supporters are having orgasms over this tape, it is a big push back to the infamous '47%' clip of Romney, no doubt it will somehow get into tomorrow's debates and likely clips of it will end up in ads by Romney and 3rd party PAC's. One has to wonder if this be the 'Willie Horton' revelation (as with 1988 Dem. candidate Dukakis) that could turn the election against Obama and with Romney getting even more white independent voters. It should be very interesting over the next week to see the fallout from this.

The Republicans already attempted to cause a stir with White before, I doubt they will be able to now. Being affiliated with White may be a little shady but I see racism thrown around from the left way too much, I don't want to see it thrown around from the right. I highly doubt the President himself is racist

Furthermore, during the 08 campaign, Obama very clearly and publically ended his relationship with Rev. White. Problem is, racism has been coming from the right, much more these days.

While I agree, cautiously, I think racism is way overblown... it's used as a (lazy) argument when it is often not warranted.

True. It's not as much racism as playing on the paranoia of some of the voters out there. Just look at the turd that is 'Dreams from My Real Father' that is apparently being mass mailed to voters in swing states, which claims that Obama is really the son of a Black Marxist who took naked pictures of white women in the 1950's. There's a bogey man for the bible belt!

I don't understand something:

There are videos from years and years ago. From before he was elected as President. Yet, none of this stuff came out until now? No one cares because it is old news. No new stuff. We have three years as him as president. Romney keeps giving us new material every day.

What no one jumps on is the right-wing voter tactics in Florida. The ones where they throw away voter registration cards from Democrats or Independants or change addresses for D or I so they are not registered. But ACORN is the problem?

Haven't heard of that, but honestly, people that believe that probably wouldn't be voting for the President anyway lol. I won't deny, there are crazies out there! But obviously, they come in all shapes and sizes (well, colors and nationality)

Maybe not racist but it is fairly clear he is asserting it. Using the didn't pull the bullet out saying isn't enough?

Also federal response to hurricane Andrew sucked. So he should get his facts right. As for the Feds gave billions upon billions to Lousiana, NOLa etc..

This video isn't new but the release of the full video is. The timeline with him and rev wright is interesting as he already started to get away from rev wright at this time but here he is thanking him etc.. Thanking him at any time is nuts.

What this shows best is what we ALL know. Pres Obama is a gifted speaker. He knows what to say for who and how to say it. He is as fake as any politician comes.

I'm just finding the partisanship amusing. I don't see this video posing any more or less a problem to Obama than I thought the "47%" clip did for Romney where it was hailed as the pivotal moment where Romney has probably lost the election, presenting "great challenges" to the Romney campaign...yada yada yada. But now with this video it's being summarily dismissed a purely "right-winger" stuff which probably won't amount to anything, just amusing to see.

That's also not what he said. He said the federal government waived the Stafford Act for Andrew. Do you disagree?

One small problem. The federal government did at times waive the Stafford Act during its New Orleans reconstruction efforts. On May 25, 2007, before Obama’s speech, the Bush administration sent $6.9 billion to Katrina-affected areas with no strings attached.

Obama comes off as a lying sack of sh&t once again, but you guys don't seem to give a damn. They say we get the government we deserve - but what of the minority that wanted to keep government sensible and controlled?

This "bombshell" was in 2007 - and as it has been pointed out before was already discussed in the 2008 election.

First: this video is nothing new, or the content is nothing new. Anyone who has read his books and looked at his actions and his administration's know that President Obama still thinks that our nation is racist and, in my opinion, harbors racist leanings himself.

No, what this is, is an indictment of the press. See, this video did not fit with the narrative that Barack Obama would have been the "post racial president". The one who would usher in a new era of racial harmony. So, they buried it and shirked their Constitutional duty.

From June 2007,

Ok, I stand corrected. There was an article. Was the video discussed during the election cycle? Was it even brought up? I paid a bit of attention during the election. I read his (Obama's) books. I watched the debates, saw (heard) his speeches. I don't recall this rather inflammatory one. Do you think if a comparable video existed for a Republican candidate, we would have seen it and been referred to it ad-nauseum, 'ala the 47%?

Quoting mt99 (Reply 20):
The press has a "Constitutional Duty"? - Honest Question

Yes, I do believe they do. Why else would there be a prohibition against "abridging the freedom...of the press". The press' job is to expose, to the light of day, the doings of our government and those who would run it. Their job is not to tell me who Paris Hilton is screwing. Their job is to tell me what my government, its leaders and those that would be leaders are doing.

Hell, in 2008 they went so far as to dig up the POW camp guard that watched over John McCain, so as to impugn McCain's account of his imprisonment. You don't think this video was just as important????

The press is in the bag for Obama.

That is why I don't believe a word that comes from the main stream and look, with a gimlet eye, at the other sources.

Is this a story? Sure it is, but not because of what Obama said, but because of how the press treated it during the election.
