For some reason my wifes and my iPhones now sync sms messages, so I get messages meant for her and vice versa, does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this.

Under your messaging settings, check the Send & Recieve addresses.
Chances are that both of your emails are on each phone.
Delete one and move on.

If that doesn't solve it, call your carrier and see if they have somehting tied up in thier network.

You are receiving iMessages they are Blue and NOT SMS messages which are Green if you share an iTunes/iCloud account this can happen.

Suggest you tap settings/messages and slide iMessages to OFF on each phone

iTunes/iCloud accounts are not designed to be shared. Like rutankrd said, if you are sharing one account you need to disable iMessage.

iMessages go through the data network, not the cell network, and so doesn't count towards your SMS message allowance if you have one. If you value that property of them, then you need to create separate iCloud accounts. If you don't value it, then turn off iMessages.

My wife has unlimited sms on her account and my work pays for my phone so not an issue.
