Welcoming Monisha Kaltenborn as the first woman to become F1 Team Principal
Congratulations Madam! All the very best!
Who will win this time? Vettel? Alonso? Jenson Button? Will Grosjean create more turmoil?
Any chance of a podium for Schumi this time around?
F1 racing goes Yeongam style!

Being on the dirtier side of the track could mean trouble for both Vettel and Alonso. I hope Vettel doesn't drop back too far. I think Vettel should be more worried about defending from Hamilton than attacking Webber.

mmm... can't see anything about sanctions imposed on those drivers that set their best sector times under yellow flag conditions.
That is discraceful, the drivers should be excluded from the race... at the least.
Yellow flags are for a reason and to show such disregard is unforgiveable.
Nice to see a good qual from MW, hope he doesn't go too far backward in the first lap.

Great driving from Sebastian Vettel to lead every lap and win the race! It was touch and go there for a while with his tyres going off in the last few laps, but thankfully he made it to the chequered flag more or less in tact. Now, the championship battle really heats up - Vettel has taken the lead in the championship table over Alonso by 6 points, with four more races remaining.

Great results for Vettel fans (like myself) but a rather lackluster event that was more about tyre management than actual on-track action. The most significant result, though, is that Ferrari overtook McLaren in the constructor's table...I bet the Scuderia did not expect a race where McLaren walked away with a solitary point (plus some bonus astroturf!). Great results for Toro Rosso and Hulkenberg as well, and it appears that Massa has done enough to secure a place in Ferrari next year.
Now the teams get two weeks to sort themselves out and, specifically in the case of Lotus (Renault) and McLaren, decide whether to sink in more money into a championship that might be lost now and fight until the end or stop developing the car and focus on next year. Either way, I expect to see either a Red Bull or a Ferrari driver winning this year's driver championship.

I'm going to laugh when his over inflated ego comes and bites him before seasons end with his continued disregard of instructions by the team.

Kamui is fair he recognizes his mistakes though it is true that one car had hit him at first. I could not really see which car it was but when it happened it looked to me like it was Vergne. There were no replays of that first hit, only replays of Kamui's hit that had caused JB and NR to leave the race.
Interview with Kamui:
"Initially I had a good start but then we were four cars side by side approaching Turn 3. I had Nico to the right and Jenson and Sergio on my left hand side.
"Someone hit my rear tyre and then it was impossible to control the car, but I had to brake at some point. I didn't manage to avoid the accident, and I feel very sorry for ruining someone else's race, and certainly this was not my intention.
"It was just a very difficult moment and I had nowhere to go but I think it was my mistake."
He will most probably be out of the Sauber team next season (does not mean he will be out of F1). It goes around still unofficial but my sources are telling me the same. The 2013 line up at Sauber seem to be Hulkenberg and Guiterres. Guiterres is a TelMex (Carlos Slim Helu -- world's richest man -- sponsorship) same sponsor as Sergio Perez. Kamui has no strong financial support and there are no more Japanese teams in F1.
Any GP2 driver with a Mega-Millions sponsorship can easily find his way into F1 these days.
Money makes Formula 1 and Formula 1 loves making money. That is no secret.

Hes the one driving the car, and thus has the feel of the car - the team just has data. The track is a different beast at the end of the race than it is during it, due to it being completely rubbered in, so while the team may be thinking about tyre wire in absolute terms based on data, its the drivers feel that ultimately dictates how he can drive the car.
Same here. The momentum is on Red Bull and Vettel. He's won the last 3 races, taking 75 points, while Alonso took only 30. Unless Vettel has to retire in one of the last 4 races, I can't see Alonso beat him.
On another subject, I'm happy to see two Frenchmen in the points this weekend (Grosjean 7th and Vergne 8th)

Vettel was consistently slower than Webber between Lap 50 and Lap 54. Far from disregarding the team's instructions, he did in fact slow down towards the end of the race to preserve the tyres.
Quoting stealthz (Reply 13): And his bitter attack on his engineer at the end of Q3...
Granted, that was uncalled for.

Really? So his progress from his 2010 season in which he crashed several times and tried his best to throw the championship away until the final four races of the season, to his complete and utter domination of 2011 and his ability to handle the pressure of a championship battle this season (shown by not making the silly errors that he was making two years ago under similar pressure) is not a sign of maturity?
Vettel has matured immeasurably as a driver since his debut season.

But he also has an inflated ego. He HAS to have the fastest lap time. He HAS to have some other stat. He HAS to have a different helmet design every race.
Whilst these are important, they're stats other drivers seem willing to go out. It's almost like some kind of OCD.

That's not an inflated ego, nor is it OCD, it's the hallmark of someone who is driven to succeed. That is precisely what I admire about him.
As for the different helmet design ... so what? What does it matter what design he chooses to have on his helmet on any given weekend? Sure, other drivers like to use it as their trade mark and thus keep the same design. I don't know how you can draw the bow between having a different helmet design every race and an "inflated ego".
