...something we all most go through. I'm curious to see how everyone (guys and girls, I guess) shaves. Do you shave up, down? How often? What equipment do you use? Electric? Blade? And what type? Do you use gel, foam or just plain water? How long does it usually take you?
I usually shave down, then up. Just doing downward strokes leaves stubble and I like to have a clean, smooth face (if I shave, that is). I used to do it everyday, but now about once or twice a week. My preferred equipment is the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo. Yes, I know it's expensive, but well worth it! I used to use a Braun electric razor and I loved it, but it broke down. I'm thinking of getting another one -- that self cleaning one. I usually use Edge pro-gel and it's quite smooth. And it usually takes me about 10 minutes to shave my face. Yes, I know that's a long time, but I have pretty sensitive skin and I have to be careful otherwise I'd cut myself.

I use Schick Tracer FX (blade), I use Edge Pro-Gel (sensitive skin type) and I shave down and then up to eliminate stubble as well. Right now I am growing a chin strap (a skinny line of hair along your jawline down to your chin), looks like a chin strap.

I shave down on my cheeks (face cheeks Mcringring so don't even go there), and usually up and down on my neck and around my well trimmed goa-tee. I currently use the Gillette Mack 3 Turbo. Expensive, but the best razor I have used. I also use that sensitive skin pro gel.

Shaving...women think they have it bad...HA. I usually shave 3 times a week. Mon/Wed/Fri (have one day in between, and then the weekend I gets me a 5 o clock....well 1700 kinda shadow going on). I use Edge TOUGH BEARDS shaving gel with the GOD SEND of a Mach 3 razor. I haven't tried the mach 3 turbo yet? (Is it worth it guys). Then I soak my face for at least 15 mins in SIZZILING HOT water to make sure its nice and soft, then wash my face with Niva for men (can we say sandpaper?)....but it works wonderfully. Then I shave up on my checks...starting on the left. Then go to my neck which usually requires up/down/sideways/ and every other which way to get ALL the hair. Then the chin and upper lip require the same treatment. Having thick hair is not always that faboo. On average...shaving takes me about 25mins or so. And then when Im done I wash my face with Pro Active or something along those lines. Then moisturize moisturzie moisturzie. Thats it for moi.

I usually only shave down, but if I really need to look clean shaven then an upward stroke is a most. I use the Gilette Mach 3 with Barbosal Aloe foam, don't like the gel stuff because it does not foam up as nice as the gel, plus it is a lot cheaper.
As for how often, probably not often enough.

I shave both down and up, about 3x/week, with a plain old--I have no idea what brand--manual razor (with real double-edge blades, none of this sissy 'cartridge' stuff ) and Gillette shaving gel, or just plain old water and soap if I shave in the shower.

Gillette Mach 3, shaving upwards to kill the stubble, every day. Either gel or regular foam for me. I'm thinking of going electric, every so often I end up nicking myself. How about the ladies? Legs, bikini zone, hopefully nowhere else?

I use a sharp rock and perhaps some red dust from the outback for talc- but you've gotta fight your way past the kangaroos and the mad wombats to get some. That's Aust. for you, we're all like Mick Dundee here...
NOT! Nar, gilette mach 3 with water. Upwards towards my chin for my neck and downwards towards my chin for my cheeks.

Hey lefty...umm...how exactly do you do this without drowning?
Anyway, I shave whenever I feel I need it, and most of the time its only when it starts to look a lil too shaggy. I use a clone of the mach 3 made my the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) the people who run all the military exchanges on army and airforce bases. Its just like the mach 3, only it cost me about 3 bucks . I use gillete aloe shaving cream and shave any direction till the hair is gone. (only on my face)

Hey, can the general public get that? If so, where?

I use the Mach 3. I shave beneath my sideburns first and then work my way in on both sides across my cheeks. I then shave my upper lip and then start on my neck. I shave down everywhere except for this one place on my neck where I always cut myself if I shave down so I shave up. On my neck I usually follow up with upward strokes to smooth it out and than lastly I work on my chin using mostly downward strokes but some upward ones to clean up the excess.
I hate shaving because it is a pain in the ass but I also don't like having facial hair.

Nope, JET, sorry don't really have a lot of guy experience. But I hear a lot of them shave their chest and stuff. Heck, I saw a dude in Yoga class who had the prettiest smoothest legs I thought he was a woman. Well, he also had long curly hair and was wearing velvet hot pants. Maybe he was somewhat of a woman.

I don't keep my face underwater Dragogolie. Usually with a wash cloth...I just make sure I ran it under hot water before I stick it on my face. Soft hair can make the difference bettween a PERFECT shave....and cutting the crap out of your face with stiff whiskers. OUCH.
