Haven't shot much lately. Been busy moving and setting up the new apartment instead.
Fog rolling in over the Port of LA and Port of Long Beach (I've been looking for a better view, but haven't found one yet). This is about 3/4 of a mile from my apartment:
An HDR of my living room (nothing spectacular here....just took it to send to my parents):
"Two and a Half Men" was filmed in front of a live ostrich.
Earlier this month I went to Disneyland to check out the filming of a new Tom Hanks film called Saving Mr. Banks. Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney so it was really neat to see "Walt" back in his park. The movie takes place in the early 1960s so it was cool to see them transform portions of the park back to how it looked at the time, as well as seeing hundreds of Extras dressed in period clothing.

I've hardly signed into A.net in the last few months, I've been busy with my photography and spending a lot of time on the photography forum that I've become a very active member on over the last couple of years
But from the last couple of months these are some of my highlights
I need to go to Japan...I like the train & coastline pics.
These were the puppets for " The Horses of Majorca" a show put on during the Celebration of St. Narcis, in Girona. They danced around to techno, fantastic.
This is the lake in Banyoles, Cataluña. I know the pic ain´t nothing great, but it´s pretty & reminds me of home!
& this is a monument to Salvador Dali, in Figueres, Cataluña.
Thanks

Some more photos from my new neighborhood:
San Pedro, part of the Port of LA, and the Vincent Thomas Bridge:
Not my best, but a large ship passing the breakwater on its way into the port:
The same large ship heading into the port:
Very excited for the photo possibilities involving fog:
Catalina Island (about 25 miles off the coast):
This is what I imagine the whole coast of Scotland looks like - golf courses and fog
(Trump National Golf Course on Palos Verdes):
More fog with Catalina:
Ben observing the Korean Bell of Friendship (you might recognize it if you've seen The Usual Suspects) and the Moon:
Basketball at the edge of the world:

More from San Pedro:
Battleship Iowa:
Vincent Thomas Bridge at night (haven't found an unblocked view yet):
Container ship being unloaded and loaded. There were 4 or 5 cranes operating while I was watching; 3 or 4 were unloading, and one was loading. Quite incredible to see:

Quoting aerdingus (Reply 14): Great pics. I think me fave is the girl dressed as a geisha? walking down the street
Thanks aerdingus, and your're right! They look fantastic and you see them now and again in the Gion area of Kyoto. Love your first shot, BTW, it's very atmospheric.

Quoting Braybuddy (Reply 22): I know it's coming up to Christmas and people are probably busy, but where are all the a.net snappers?
I've been mostly taking aviation photos lately. That said, I have a couple nonav photos here and there, but just haven't gotten around to uploading them yet.
But I'm still enjoying looking at yours, so don't stop posting cause no one else is!

Couple photos of Boston while home for Christmas. Unfortunately didn't bring my tripod into the city, so these were shot at ISO3200. One second exposures taken while balancing the camera on a fence:

Nice shots, but I think the second one looks better with the upturned boats adding interest in the foreground.
It's now 2013 and time for a new thread if anyone wants to start one. I've been editing some pics over the last few days and will post them before the weekend

Thanks! And absolutely, the 2nd one was my best from that night. May end up getting that one framed or something.
Just can't believe I didn't put my tripod on the car. Had to do quite a bit of NR in post-processing. Not to mention trying to balance the camera while my fingers were freezing off.
