What To Do About Rapist Barber?

Posted (1 year 9 months 1 week 2 days 10 hours ago) and read 5705 times:

My barber got sent to jail for beating his wife and is having his cousin run his shop for 6 mos while he is gone. His cousin does a great job and works cheap but the problem is he keeps humping my arm when he gives me a shave. At first I thought it was just a coincidence but now I have been in his chair three times and he has done it every time. I feel kind of powerless as I don't want to say anything since he has a big straight razor up against my neck. So I just sit there and let him rub his junk against my arm and feel him get "excited" and I just take it.

He also has done other weird stuff like ask me to get a soda from the machine for him so I bend over right in front of him and he never gives me his business card (even though they are right on the counter)...he always gives me his personal cell phone number with a reminder that he makes free house calls if it's an emergency.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to address this with him? I refuse to go to a different shop since I have been going there for 12 years and no one knows my hair like they do (plus no other shop will do a cut and a hot shave for $16). I've though about putting my elbow out out next time he tries it but I'm not sure how he will react. He is a macho Dominican man so you really cannot be direct. OK, I realize this isn't a huge deal like the Delhi Gang Rape victim but I still would like him to stop.

Thanks for the advice...

That's your problem. It's freaking hair.

No one knows your hair like the guy that's been cutting it for less than 6 months?

Get a new barber or ask for a reach around.

So. Let me get this straight. He did it once and you noticed, but came back because you refuse to go to another place. He did it a second time and you noticed but came back for a third time?

No wonder he keeps doing it. By this point he´s pretty certain you are enjoying it.

Quoting usflyer msp (Thread starter):

If my barber asked me for a soda, I would tell him to go get it himself. It should be the other way around. If you know what´s going on, why do you bend over for it?

And why do you want his business card? you know his place of business and the phone, I suppose, since you have to call for an appointment, don´t you?

I´m sorry, but there are a lot of mixed signals you are sending to the guy. Out of naiveté, I´m sure. You should really go someplace else, because he´s bound to make a serious move soon, and you won´t like it.

Stop visiting. Just stop. Basically what you are saying is that you are willing to get molested to save a few bucks on a haircut. There are other people who can do just as good a job.

This is really cut and dry (pun intended). Stop. Now.

I'm just curious as to why you've gone back a second and third time? There's nothing else to do but find a new barber until your guy gets out of prison. Really, it isn't that bad. I've been going to the same barber since I was 10-years old, but when I moved to Australia for 5 months I didn't have a choice but to find someone new temporarily. I was careful with my selection and it all worked out.

My God......if someone 'humped' my arm uninvited (and for the record, NOBODY will ever be invited to do that) then they are going to get trouble - regardless of how big they are. Man, I'd rather someone beat me up than violated me sexually in this way.

Hey, my hair "stylist" is a very attractive lady, so I personally wouldn't it if she humped my arm or anything else of mine.

You know, this thread could become eligible for the annual "A.net Snowglobe Award" this year!

Mmm, no - I don't think so. People aren't excluded from reporting sexual offences just because they were to afraid or freaked out to do so for a while. I concede that going back for more is an issue, but then he may not have quite believed what was occurring to begin with.

I remember having watched some spaghetti western years ago where the (bandit) hero, who had rewards on him from several people, not just the sheriff, was getting shaved by a barber. As the razor neared the throat, the barber was breaking out in sweat, because the hero had his sixgun pointed right at the barber´s ghoolies.
Maybe you should try something like this, grab to barber´s b@lls in a death grip and twist them as necessary?

It amazes me how clueless some people can be.

First - Your barber isn't raping you. If he is then you are a real dumb@## for staying. As it is you are a partial one for having to ask airliners.net geeks for advice on this.
Second - Do you really need to be told to find a new barber when one of them is a wife beater and the other is a dry humper? If so I can only assume your nanny laid out your clothes for you this and every morning.
Third - Since you said he does it when he is shaving you, have you considered doing it yourself.

Rapist Barber

Okay, let's talk for a moment about what "rape" means. "Rape" means sex. Now, I know that "humping my arm" is as close as many on this site may get to sex, but that still doesn't make it sex, and so the term "rapist" is grossly inaccurate.

I don't want to switch barber shops because the rental fees for the shop is the only source of income for my barber's wife and kids while he is away. He and I are kinda friends so I want to support him (although I don't condone his drinking and anger management issues)...I ahve the replacement barber cut my hair a few times before when my barber has been on vacation or otherwise unavailable but he never tried anything like that before...

Great. "Let me support the wife/child of a wife-beater by getting sexually assaulted." Dude, call his wife up, as if she's OK and if there's anything at all you can do, and STOP PATRONIZING THE BUSINESS OF SOMEONE AS TERRIBLE AS YOUR "FRIEND." If he comes back from prison and his business is thriving, do you think he'll change?!?!?

Quoting usflyer msp (Reply 53):
He and I are kinda friends

You probably need to re-think this choice. If a "friend" of mine beat his wife, I would turn on him so fast it would make your head spin. That is unforgiveable, and if you can't see that, then you have problems far more severe than having someone dry-hump your arm.

I went again yesterday and the bastard humped my arm again. When he started, I made eye contact and gave him my best "if looks could kill look". He stopped for a few seconds and then started right back up. I feel so used and violated. My normal barber is out of prison but he has to do community service on the weekends for the next 3 months so he won't be back until May. I have a skin condition that requires me to shave with a straight razor else I will get a rash so I really cannot shave myself. So I guess I will have to suck it up and deal with it for the next 3 months but I will dance for joy when my normal guy returns. $11 a haircut adds up when you get 25-30 haircuts a year.

He really is usually a nice friendly guy. He has quite the life story. He was a Latin King in Miami and got shot twice and stabbed 3 times and ended up fleeing to Minnesota to change his life. Unfortunately, he is also a mean drunk. From what I understand, He got drunk and came home and wanted his wife to fulfill her marital duties and she refused and got mouthy with him about his drinking so he gave her that smack accompanied by a choke hold. He should never drink and many of us have told him this. His wife is still with him though...

Evidence that you enjoy this adds up, too. There is NO way it bothers you as much as you claim it does. Is this "new" barber the ONLY other one at the barber shop? Can't you go to another guy in the SAME place?

Now you're defending him for beating his wife?!??!?!?! He absolutely SHOULD be in prison, for a long time. You are a heartless person and so much less of a friend than you claim. Get your act together.

There are so many solutions to your problem and you're too dense to see any of them for whatever reason.

So I guess I will have to suck it up and deal with it for the next 3 months

Ok, enough already. I've heard enough - this is just attention-seeking bo***cks. I just don't believe a word of this tripe.

Quoting usflyer msp (Reply 91):

Wow, just wow. That you even associate with this guy might say a lot about you. I just don't get it. WHY GO BACK? Find another cheap place. Grow a beard! I just don't get it. And who needs to get 25-30 haircuts a year???? Do you add fertilizer to your hair? Every 3-4 weeks should be enough no? I guess you keep your hair very short.

You must enjoy it, you just must because I don't know any male or female who would continue to allow the same thing to happen over and over again if they didnt. If you wee a female this could easily be a case of sexual assault by the way. I guess it also is on you too but usually a man does not allow it to continue to happen and you have basically consented to let him keep doing it by being ridiculous and not saying anything and continuing to go.

Also if you need a straight edge just buy one yourself.

It is hard to believe this thread is true but it seems like it.

Perhaps someone who thinks "marital duties" include the requirement to have sex with a violent drunk needs some time to think about his marriage. Away from society. While having his business partner hump his customers' arms. Yep.

I think we need to start a poll here: Would you rather have A) your haircut budget line increase by $11 OR B) a dude hump your arm while holding a blade to your neck? I mean, people can be into roleplay all they want, but that goes a bit far for me, so I'll go for A.

I wish MY barber would hump my arm. 16 dollars sounds okay for a 15-minute thrill. Holding a razor to my throat might just make it that little bit more exciting . . .

You have so far (I think) neglected to mention where you live, that men's hair cuts are a "bargain" at $11 ? Maybe if you want to "save money" on your hair cuts, I can direct you to a really good barber, right on Wabash St. in downtown Terre Haute that only charges $5 ! I use him occasionally when my regular barber is closed for some reason.

The next time the guy humps your arm, jump out of the chair, and with out saying a word, spin around quickly and give him a good solid toe-kick to his crotch; this will "convince" him that you don't wish to have your arm humped; if he should persist, a good, solid "side-of-the-palm" blow to his adam's apple will give you plenty of time to depart the premises. The next time you go there, he will probably behave.

If the above tactics seem too "direct" to you, here's another option; go to your local TV station; tell them all about the "arm humping"; tell them you are going back for another hair cut; they will send a film crew (with a sound man), and you will be able to watch the whole incident on the 5PM news cast; (BTW........have them give you a DVD copy, and take it home and post it to this thread; I'm sure there are many here who would be delighted to watch it ! )

Good, now that you're realizing that you can go a while without that humping barber, we can finally address what I believe to be the bigger issue (if this whole story is real and you're not just trying to weasel your way out of being caught as a troll).

STOP PATRONIZING THE BUSINESS OF SOMEONE WHO BEATS HIS WIFE!!!!!!!! If you can bring yourself to pay your money to someone who will likely spend it on alcohol and hurt the mother of his children, then you are sicker than any of us would have guessed from the arm-humping incident.

The fate of the snowglobe really completes the story. When we were following this saga in real time, the snowglobe's fate (or destiny, perhaps?), especially where it happened, was the ultimate crescendo to the drama.

The real classics can't be planned though - they have to come about either as a result of individual lunacy, or spontaneous collective madness. Now, having spent a while on a.net now, the chances of one or the other of these coming about in a reasonably timely fashion seems pretty high!
