Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask you something, i really confused about choosing best flight school for becoming an airliner pilot. i'm currently living in Queens, New York and really don't have a chance to go to Florida for training. So, i have done some researched on internet about flight schools and liked a few. Most of them are located in Long island. Does anyone have ideas what is the best flight school in New york area? ATP flight school seems professional. Anyone went to ATP flight school or the other ones? I really will be appreciate for any kind of help.

Thanks in advance,

Serkan

I went to a flight school at CDW that doesn't exist anymore. A friend taught at Republic Airport in Farmingdale NY, which would probably be your best bet.

Thanks for you replied! So, Do you know what is the name of this flight school that your friend went? And is he now working as a pilot?

Nassau flyers only gives PPL. They don't give ATPL. I'm actually looking for ATPL rather than PPL. If i meet with someone who studied ATPL in one of the New york's flight school, i will be happy.
Yeah FRG is the destination for most flight schools and I also saw some schools located in ISP.

If you want to get a US license, you're going to have to get a PPL first, and you'll have a ways to go before you qualify for an ATP. So I wouldn't let that deter you. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find any school that does ATP training - that's normally done on your own, and flight schools generally top out at the Commercial-Multi certificate and various instructor certificates.

If you're looking to get a foreign license, I don't think there's any school in the New York area that does those.

Since you're in Queens, I'd stay with the schools on Long Island, either at FRG or ISP. Any of the New Jersey airports or HPN are going to be a pain to get to.
