During the last JAVA update, an annoying program was installed, in a sneaky way I might add, to my Google Chrome. I'm talking about ASK Tool bar.
I have searched all over, for directions on how to unistall, delete and get rid of it. So far, northing. One forum I visited, someone mentioned that ASK pays for the rights to have their software installed in a way that it won't be uninstalled.
I even sent ASK for help. I mean, i have treid it all. Google extensions link is checked but won't allow me to uncheck that opiton.
So, little help, anypne? TIps, ideas, suggestion. I'd appreciate your help. Cheers.

I'm not a hard core techie but I can offer some advice. Have you tried going into the Java settings? If it was installed through Java there may be an option to shut it off that way. I'm surprised you can't remove it through the Google extensions tab. Have you tried putting it in developer mode and removing it that way? I didn't even know Chrome could have 3rd party toolbars! Learn something new everyday.

Assuming you are running Win 7.
I'm sure you have tried this but if you click "Start-Control Panel-Programs and Features" it should be listed there and you double click to uninstall.
If that doesn't work and you remember the day you made this update go into System Restore by clicking "Start-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore". Windows makes a checkpoint pretty much every day and you can restore to and perhaps made one prior to this install, revert to a point before you made this update and it should be gone.
Take this as a lesson as there is a lot of software that installs crap like this and many users simply click "next-next-next" when installing things. Read the prompts carefully and install only what you need as software like the ASK toolbar contains at the worst mal-ware or it simply slows your system down.

This is rather simple in Chrome: open the menu on the right hand side (the button with the 3 horizontal bars) -> Settings . Click on 'Extensions' in the left menu, and you'll get a list of everything you have. You can disable it there and throw it out right away as well.
