Does anyone have any ancestors that fought in the Revolutionary War or have any lineage to any of the founding fathers?

Yes, my grandfather on my mother's side has General Andrew Pickens as an ancestor. He was an American general that fought mainly in the upcountry of South Carolina. There is a county named after him.

On my Mom's side, ancestors can be traced back to the orginal Dutch settlers of Manhattan and of Officiers in the Continental Army.

On my paternal grandmother's side, my ancestors arrived in America around 1720 aboard a fleet known as "the White Sails" and settled around Charleston South Carolina.

An ancestor of mine was a knight at the Battle of Sempach in 1386, which won the Swiss independance from Habsburg Austria. He was killed in the battle, and his name and family crest is written on the wall of the church on the battlefield, along with the names of all the other noblemen killed in the battle.

You didn't specify WHICH war of independance  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

The first ancestor of mine that came to the "New World" was in 1512. Yes, I'd say that I have many ancestors that fought in the war of independence.

Ancestors on my mother's father's side came to America well before the Revolution. I don't know for sure if any of them fought in the war, but it's certainly a possibility.
