This is a terribly sad story.

She claims she was worried that his "small penis" would affect his prospects for the future, police say.

Obviously she never heard the saying...its not the size, but what you do with it !

Sad, sick and disturbing.

police ordered a psychological test to assess her mental condition.

Would there be any concern of mental condition if it was the father that killed his child? Probably not.

I agree with what Superfly said.

Here in the United States there was a news story some years ago about a woman who drowned all of her children in the bathtub. Countless mainstream media outlets referred to her as "stressed" and made mention of her husband being unsupportive or aloof. Basically the woman - who willfully killed children - was made out to be some sort of victim.

Meanwhile, when a man commits that sort of crime, there is very little discussion in the news media about his own background; no matter how abusive his own upbringing was, the media and the public are content to label him "psychopath" and close the book on him.

That might, at the end of the day, be the right thing to do, but the disparity between the ways in which male and female criminals are analyzed in our country's media is notable.

Puberty might have made it grow, besides arent there hormone treatments to fix this? I mean they help make the thing average size or close to that, dont expect miracles that will make it a porn star type.

He'd probably have had more luck with one of these than hormone treatments.

Or he could when older have had a penis enlargement, makes them bigger when flacid, althought I don't think this operation increases size when erect.

Still, I disagree with what Superfly said. If someone kills their own son because of his penis size, their mental health will be put into question, and rightfully so. This just reeks of insanity, regardless of whether it was a man or a woman that did it. As to whether the public will be more "understanding" towards women I have no idea, but that isn't what Superfly said.

The article doesn't say whether her son was afflicted with a micropenis, or was just endowed on the smaller side. No matter what the boy's situation was though, it gives no justification for drowning a child. What a sad story.

Nice try, but wrong on assumption.

I've been in news 15 years, every time I've had a story come through my desk in which a female offs a member of her offspring, it's a mental case. Anytime it's been a male, it's a matter of financial impairment.

So, yes, an immediate discussion concerning females and mental illness is warranted and will be the first focus of any police investigation. Same story in a situation involving a male and financial impairment.

I just googled "man kills son", and the first two stories which came up, one a case in Sacramento, the other in Florida, both were over custody rights.

Good god, this is not the most important body part, at least not for someone with brains.
I hope they´ll lock her away so she never sees a penis again.

He obviously got different priorities on things to lose than, may I say, most men.

The penis wouldn't work without your brain.

Quoting neutrino (Reply 20):
I am sure he does,

With language like; "this is not the most important body" part and "that thing" sounds like he doesn't care one way or the other. Hey that's fine but his position doesn't make him more valiant or intelligent.
Worth noting, I've known of several wives that cheated on their 'smart' husbands behind their backs.

A body part I could do without would be tonsils or appendix.

I have no problems there, but I would be very surprised most mean would rather loose their legs than their penis. That would indeed be very odd to me if thats true. With what I said I only argued the opinion that the penis the THE most important body part for a man as an individual (of cause, overall, if you mean all men with "man" and not the indiviadual, its the most important because we would all be extinct if not).

Absolutely, but I doubt that many men in earnest would say that the penis the most important part to them.
