I laughed at the bit where the poor little girl is grizzling about having jam wiped off her arm with a slice of 'bread' and not enjoying it at all, but then about thirty seconds later I realised that she probably wasn't worried about the bread or the jam - I rather fancy she was more concerned about the guys hands being near her, seeing as this is a man who thinks absolutely nothing about dunking his bare hands in the toilet repeatedly!

Given that the bread is packaged airtight (and probably under carbon dioxide), the bread should just stay the same for months. I don't know what preservatives are used for that kind of bread, but cheese sometimes comes with natamycin, an antibiotic that is allowed as a food additive in the EU. It is effective against Aspergillus, the most common type of mold.
