Alan Arbus has passed away at 95.

A photographer and actor he was probably most famous for his role as Dr. Sydney Friedman. He actually only made 12 appearances as that charter during the 11 year run. But he also had other roles, I remember him being in Raid on Entebbe and in a Roger Corman Nurses flick from the seventies.

Sorry cant link to the actual story off my ipod.

If anybody was wondering the thread title is arguably his single most famous line as the Dr. Friedman Character. It seemed appropriate.

Just watched an episode with him in it yesterday. It's hard to believe a man that only made 12 appearances could have such a large impact on the show, but that says a lot about him and the character he played so very well.

Similar could be said for Col. Flagg (played by the late Edward Winter), who only made 6 episode appearances; 7 if one counts the his role as Capt. Halloran in the Deal Me Out episode, that was prior to his Col. Flagg role.

My bad, a combination of the bloody auto-spell and trying not to be too obvious about posting while at work.

You mentioning of Edward Winter got me thinking, we are starting to see the actors from this generation of shows drop off. RIP McLean Stevenson, Larry Linville, and Harry Morgan

Don't forget Johnny Haymer, who played Sgt. Zale and the show's creator, Larry Gelbart.

Back to Allan Arbus, I didn't realize that he was that old (95). That means he appeared in throughout the series while in his mid-50s through his mid-60s. He certainly didn't look it.
