Bit of a bizzare story but then maybe not ?

First milk, butter, coffee and cornmeal ran short. Now Venezuela is running out of the most basic of necessities - toilet paper.

Blaming political opponents for the shortfall, as it does for other shortages, the embattled socialist government says it will import 50m rolls to boost supplies.

That was little comfort to consumers struggling to find toilet paper.

"This is the last straw," said Manuel Fagundes, a shopper hunting for tissue in downtown Caracas. "I'm 71 years old and this is the first time I've seen this."

One supermarket visited by The Associated Press in the capital was out of toilet paper. Another had just received a fresh batch, and it quickly filled up with shoppers as the word spread.

They could all become Washers instead of Wipers.

Sounds like the government will need to import more than 50M rolls just to cover the government, spouting that amount of poo.

Okie

It could be the first of many straws actually Manuel. It's a shitty deal for the people of Venezuela.

The real problem is going to be when they run out of food, which is already happening.

Well...first I just wanna say that it is hard to see this image of Venezuela worldwide. But it is the truth the country is facing and I'm "glad" that people in the world start to realize that Venezuela is far from being the country it used to be

True...every day one product of the "cesta basica" dissapears and become the target of a treasure hunting in all the supermarkets of the country. It's very sad to see images of people making lines for hours and being marked with a number to obtain only one of this products. If we just add this to the political crisis then do the math of where the ilegitimate government of Mr. Cast...sorry, Mr.Maduro is going to end.

Indeed my friend and we still haven't touched the bottom of it.

Yes...still more of this and that. They just don't know who to blame anymore and people get tired of the same story over and over again. Venezuelans want solutions, not blames. The "president" held a meeting the other day with Mr. Mendoza (owner of Empresas Polar, the most important company in the food, drinks and necesities market in Venezuela) to solve the problem. It is important to notice that Mr. Mendoza was always considered an enemie of the revolution and well, look who they need to talk to now to solve the crisis. The government is desperate to hold a government that is going into a debacle for 14 years now and with the mastermind dead they just dont know what to do.

Let's see whats coming up in the next months, but sadly all I can see is a black whole for my country in the short term.
