It's been a while since we've had one of these, and we've had quite a few new faces over the years, especially those who are insiders or experts in their respective fields, so why not get to know each other again, in a politically neutral thread
I'll start off
Name: Zach K
Location- Shibuya, Tokyo (I hail from Cincinnati Ohio but have more connections now in PHX)
Occupation- 3rd year student, Sophia University. I also help run the PHX Spotters page (I'm in charge of the Airlienrs wing of PHX Spotters, and recently have been collecting aviation fans from all over Japan to join the page. If you wanna join, just search us on Facebook!)
How I got into Aviation: Unknown. It's been in my blood, I guess. My birthmom is (was? not sure if still is) a USAF pilot, so I guess that's how I got interested. But I don't plan on being a pilot lol
Camera used for spotting (if applicable) I use a Nikon D3200 with a variety of lenses.
Favorite Airline: Well, I've only flown AF and DL, but I love the business model of NH.
Favorite Airframe: Boeing 787 of course But I am not biased between Airbus and Boeing. I love the 346 and am falling in love with the A350 too
Other "Fanships:" I guess I'm a railfan here in Japan, but not much of one. I also follow hockey extensively, along with baseball. I am also a craft brew connoisseur.
Other Info: Self-proclaimed Japan expert (even though I have lots to learn.) I also play Ice hockey, and used to teach guitar and piano when I was in Arizona. After college I hope to either find a job working for Boeing between their offices in Japan and Arizona, or some other company that has offices in Japan and PHX. Eventually my buddy and I wanna start an importing company. If the market gets back in order, I have a dream of starting a cargo airline
How I got into aviation: My dad used to take me plane-spotting at OAK and SFO. My first word was "jet" while pointing and babbling sitting on his shoulders while visiting the observation deck one day, as the story goes.
Other useful info: International Homo of Mystery. (Doesn't that say enough? )

AIRLINERS.NET CREW CHAT OPERATOR
Location: Perth, Australia (Hong Kong ex-pat)
Occupation: Law clerk - "doing my time" as a law clerk before applying for admission into practice as a lawyer. I work for a law firm that is involved in intellectual property law, which is the field I'd like to specialise in when I'm admitted as a lawyer.
Previously worked for a freight forwarding company.
How I got into Aviation: Probably from growing up in Hong Kong in the early to mid 1980s when Kai Tak was still operational, seeing a variety of CX 742s, CX 743s, CX L-1011s JL DC-10s, BA 742s ... etc, etc ... flying within inches of rooftops in Kowloon. I used to live near the Kowloon City Ferry terminal, from which I could get a view of Kai Tak. I remember grandma taking me there to watch the planes take off and land when I was little.
Camera used for spotting (if applicable): Canon IXUS 80 (compact point and shoot)
Favourite Airline: CX
Favourite Airframe: Boeing 777
Other "Fanships": KMB buses of the 1980s, cars, Star Trek, James Bond, Aussie rules football, Formula 1, cricket
Other Info: I play the piano and I play table-tennis, but I'm not very good at either.

Name: Adam W
Location: Los Angeles
Occupation: Aircraft Engineering, MX, & MX Mgmt. I work for one of LAX' more prolific contract mx/eng firms. In fact, our GSE is frequently visible in a lot of LAX photos.
How you got into Aviation: My Dad used to take my sister & I all over the place when we were brats. Back then, flying wasn't quite so much like showing up to a shopping mall either. Airports had that real "Airporty" feel, and for some reason I just loved the hell out of all that.
Favorite Airline: BA. As much for their imperfections as for what they get right. I guess it doesn't hurt that one of the my current lady friends works there too, so, a little bias. I'll go ahead and tie KL with them, since they are awesome enough to remain worthy of operating the MD11!
Favorite Airframe: The best one, of course. 77W. Although the Scud (MD11) is also one of my favs, along with the Il-62.
About two weeks ago, I recorded having worked on my 300th 777 hull #. Really not much to dislike about that frame. As well it says something that when our station launches about 30 of those a day, the sound is still enough to make me pause when one goes out. Long live the GE-90!
Other Fanships: Type O Negative, Birthday Massacre, Rush, Dream Theatre, Cracked.com (have to mention that since I occasionally toss them a poorly written editorial), Peter F Hamilton, Alistair Reynolds, Greg Iles, John Green, CGPGrey and Glen Beck. Automatic entry to my RU list if you can guess which one of those I'm totally lying about!
Other Info: Really, really good at making folks hate the name "Adam."
