Bonjour all...

I have joined Air France at its main CDG base on October 28th 1996
and have always worked on our long-haul network with only 2 months
spent on short haul flights.
I have flown nearly 4000 hours on every type of aircraft but the
newly delivered Airbus A330-200. I have spent countless times in
countless cities all over the world with my favourites being Tokyo,
Bangkok, San Francisco, Boston and Johannesburg.
I befriended many a passenger and made myself some of the best
friends I can count on.
As of September 1st I will no longer serve the Paris base as I am
being transfered, at my demand, to our Tahiti base. There I will
settle down in the small city of Pirae, close to Papeete and will
operate the PPT-LAX-CDG route on our 747-400.
I will continue reading your reports and information from my native
island.
To all a warm Happy Flying... 45 days to go before I fly to Papeete...

Thank you all,

Happy Flying.

Congratulations! I would love to at a minumum visit Tahiti. Not sure if I could live there, but I sure would give it a shot if the chance for me arose. Again, congrats and best of luck.

It must be so hard for you to live in Tahiti....  Big grin

I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

I was at the Beachcomber Intercontinental on Moorea for nine days last year.
It was really exceptional for about five days....then the boredom set in! I was practically making new friends based on which newpapers and magazines they had (Ok..not quite that bad).

My recommendation is to remember to bring plenty to read. There is only so much snorkeling and scuba diving you can do.

Oh...the the French Polynesians were all very polite and friendly. I'm sure you'll enjoy your assignement there.

Note however, it's also ridiculously expensive.

Bonjour Greg...

Thanks for your information but remember that I am a native of the island and I grew up 19 years there spending all my youth in Tahiti.
I love my island but I know you can get pretty bored after a while but I will be flying once a week to LAX and can always go and visit one of our 180 something island and atolls and if worse comes to worse I will fly to the neighbouring countries. I pla to go to Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Easter Island, Chile Hawaii etc...

Once again Thank you all for your support,

Mauruuru (Thank you in Tahitian) and Ia Orana !

AF Cabin Crew.

Your moving from Paris to Tahiti!!!!

I live in a beautiful apartment in the 3rd and I would still drop everything in a second to move to Tahiti.

If you still have 45 days left in Paris I guess I will see you on the champs elysee to celebrate Armstrongs 4th tour victory!!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Best of luck in Tahiti and congratulations

Wow... that must be quite a change. That new route (PPT-LAX-CDG) must be one hell of a long haul. That is halfway around the world, is it not???

Best of luck in the move!

Are you receiving a pay increase since you are now flying the 747 if you don't mind me asking?
Congrats!
