I received the terrible news today via Facebook from his girlfriend. Airliners.net member Lufthansa747, (Lari-Pekka Kero) has passed away yesterday from a heart attack at the age of 32.
He was most active in the trip reports forums and has a few photos in the database. I’ve meet Lari a few times here in Bangkok. We took one of the last Thai Airways 747-300s in Royal First Class from Bangkok to Hong Kong in 2007. We always liked to compare our favorite airlines and talk about the pros & cons of each airline and such.
He was a great guy and a lot of fun to hang out with. This is comes as a total shock to me. I was looking forward to hanging out with him again in a few months.

Lari was a native of Finland, studied in University here in Bangkok but has lived in The Philippines for the past 5 years.

Here are a few database photos I know he is most proud of as well as me, him and ChrisTao17 hanging out back in 2007.

Larry and Lari!
We're in the Royal First Class lounge at Suvarnubhumi before our flight to Hong Kong on the last Thai Airways 747-300.

R.I.P. a shame to go so young.

Not meaning to thread jack but I was wondering if Geezer may have passed on? Charlie was pretty old and hasn't posted for some time.

It's always sad to see young people die well before their "time". It is especially hard on family and close friends, but others feel the sadness as well.

All we can do now is wish him and his family Peace.

Very very sad to hear this news.....very shocking since he was so young.

He was an amazing trip reporter and a great online friend. We used to message several times a week on Facebook.

RIP Lari

You will forever be missed.

Man, 32 is not that old at all. I wonder if he had any warning symptoms? My sympathies to his family.

I was sincerely shocked by receiving a private message from his girlfriend this early afternoon, mentioning this terrible news. Way to young to go away from a good life.

I had a lot of contact with Lari until just a few days ago, and he was happy with his girlfriend in Philippines at this time, they just came back from -what now was their last- holiday.

His girlfriends asked us to pray for Lari.

I wish her and Lari's relatives strenght and power to get through this difficult period in their lives, and may Lari rest in peace!

My condolences to his family, friends and girlfriend

May time minimize the pain and maximize the memories.

It always shocks me when people this young pass,

I lost a good friend last year at the age of 33. Never seems quite fair

Older than I just was ,and younger than I will soo be.

Sad not to have known this vibrant soul, but if he was your friend, Larry, I know I'd have enjoyed his company.

I raise a glass in honor of Lari, secure in the knowledge that, though his life was foreshortened, it was well-lived!

Because we exchange so often,so much on these threads its difficult for me to remember Lufthansa747. I send my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends on they're loss. This rude act of loss is reminder of how we can suddenly go.

Gosh, how dreadful. Is it unusual to have a fatal heart attack at 32 if you're not a hardcore druggie (which I am guessing isn't the case here)? Anyone know more details? Allergic reaction maybe? Very sad and a bit scary. We need to take better care of ourselves.

Was also wondering about Geezer's health. Always enjoyed his wacky rants, haven't seen one for a while.

I heard the shocking news yesterday, this is so sad. My condolences to his family and friends.

Lari alias Lufthansa747 was one of the trip reporter pioneers, his work was legendary. He used to inspire me and many others. All those who don't know him or don't remember his work should have a look here:

I met him once in Jakarta and it was a pleasure to talk to him about our beloved hobby. He had many crazy and funny things to tell.

Lari, my friend, rest in peace. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
