The '13 Boston Red Sox Are World Series Champions!

When I first joined this forum, I wanted my username to be BOSman, but something went wrong in the process and it told me that the name had already been taken by me. So I resorted to BOStonsox, as I always knew I would love the Boston Red Sox.

Last year, they were so bad, yet somehow I just couldn't hate them enough to change my username. Now, they have completed the greatest worst-to-first story ever! Amazing.

I'm surprised there wasn't an MLB Playoff thread. I was meaning to start one but never got around to it.

But we're World Series Champions!

I'm at a loss for words right now. And I've never been prouder to be BOStonsox!

YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Can we add "World Series Champions" to my username now?

Yes we are.

Glad they finally won it at Fenway.

(Hain't done that since 1918, see.)

The Red Sox win the world series and here I am just praying the Yanks get it next year. Congrats to Boston!

Though I was just thinking it's mischief night and the Sox won the World Series. Boy would I hate to be a Boston cop tonight.

The Braves are a Boston team as well, if you want to look at it that way.

Let's Go Red Sox! I am so happy now that I am at a loss for words What a season, and in particular what a play-off - only way of making it any more improbable is if we had tied a game on the bottom of the 9th inning of game 4 of the ALCS after trailing the series by 3 games. A team that never gave up, and always acted like a team. And David Ortiz? The next edition of Merriam-Webster dictionary should come with a picture of Big Papi under the word "Leader".

Maybe you can ask the Hawaiians how they liked Kolten Wong's performance on game 4.

From a life long Cards fan, congrats to the Sox..

Cards could not hit for squat, and while Boston didn't do much better they got the big hits when they needed 'em. And Big Papi played like a man possessed hitting everything in sight. I have been watching this game for a long time and have not seen a better performance by a single player, and this coming from someone who watched Bob Gibson dominate in the '67 and '68 series.

Well done guys

Classy post! Gotta love the Gibson reference! Of course Yaz was a rookie in that 67 series so to me it's a bittersweet reference.

Bottom line, 2013 was our year!

Not yesterday. The Cardinals pitchers were too afraid to throw anything at him. 3 intentional walks in a single game!

I always thought the problem with the Cubs was not so much a curse but a general suckiness, is that not true?

The problem is that Ben just threw out all of Theo's trash and turned it around in one year.
That's gotta be putting a lot of pressure on Theo.
