I saw this movie yesterday, and this goes for you who have seen it.

There is a white Jetta in that movie, that actually was build by a tuningcomp.
I read an article a couple of years ago about the owner of the tuningcomp. and it was pictures of that car and what he/they had done with it.
I cant remember the name of that tuningcomp., but maybe you can help me out here.
Maybe you know if that car have NOS for real? Cant remember the article that well.

Nice movie by the way.

When in doubt, flat out!

I find it criminal that anyone would want to spend so much money on trying to make flashy race cars out of front-wheel-drive pieces of sh&%!

When was the last time a front-wheel-drive car won an F1 race, or CART, or NASCAR, or Le Mans, or any race where FWD and RWD cars are allowed to go head to head?

These rice rockets are a gigantic waste of time and money.

We've already been through this a few times. When the movie first came out, then again when it hit video. I enjoyed it, but for different reasons. In my opinion it was a comedy. The title fits though, There are the fast, then there are Honda drivers who are furious because they're not!  Big thumbs up

Movie stunk. wrecking an old Charger is sacrilidge (SP).

The movie reminded me of some of the ridiculous cars I see on the street....
20' Tires, big rims, coffee can muffler, "boomin'" sound system, spoilers galore...but guess what..it is still an Accord that sounds like a lawn mower and is about as fast...(even with nirtous provided you dont blow the head off).

Real sports car: Corvette, 300ZX Turbo, Mustang, Hemi Cuda, Ferrari.

LOL You guys are all correct!

Those stupid ricers are just hilarious, and sad at the same time. These idiots who try to soup up their 4 banger pieces of sh*t just make me laugh. They try to race people on the streets, and never win. I saw a minivan race a riced-out Neon and the minivan killed it  Laugh out loud  Laugh out loud

Also, don't call them rice rockets, it could make someone think they are actually fast  Laugh out loud, call them ricers, rice burners, dickless rice boys, etc.  Smile

You'll usually hear a ricer before you see one, those fart pipes/fart cannons/coffee can mufflers sound horrible, and loud.

The typical ricer on the street has these things:

1. Fart Pipe (maybe adds 5HP, sounds horrible)
2. Rims (makes it look gay)
3. Bodywork (usually adds weight by adding extra panels)
4. Spoiler/Wing (no improved performance, just for gay looks)
5. Black Hood (spray painted, not carbon)
6. Clear Lights (again, just gay looks)

So, with all those awesome features, the riced out car is probably slower than the stock version  Laugh out loud

Sometimes I wonder why some of these idiots don't go home and shoot themselves because of how dumb they really are.

They're not all Japanese cars!
Increasingly, Neons and Cavaliers are being 'riced' out as well.

I don't see anything wrong with taking a solid daily ride and modifying them to go a little faster. As for exterior mods, I think they're tacky. But again, it's their car and money; I really couldn't care less what they do with them.

I don't see anything wrong with adding a little spice to a daily driver. However, don't loose sight that it is still a "Civic/Accord/Camry/Neon" and that you aren't impressing anyone with the noise.

Im going to get a new Altima when I get my bonus, probably the 3.5 V6... 0-60 in 6.02 seconds.... Ill have rims and a stereo, thats about it... You wont hear me coming, or see me for that matter... Even the new Mustangs would have some trouble keeping up.

1996 Chevy Impala SS.

All the power and masculinity of a Corvette (LT-1 V8 engine) with being flashy, and allows you to have a backseat (after all that's what having nice cars are needed for right.......the "back seat" fun lol)

We had a discussion on this awhile back. Someone made a comment (I don't remember who you are, but if you see this.....I'd like to give you credit) that pretty much hit the nail on the head.

It went something like this (quoting from memory):

You guys are just jealous of our cars. A fin or spoiler adds at least 15 HP. Rims add another 8 (per wheel). Tinted windows....those add yet another 15 or 20. A 4" muffler adds at least 50HP and an engine intake another 45. Clear headlights add approximately 20HP and racing stickers add 5HP each. So the more stickers you put on, the more powerful your car is. A subwoofer playing at least 100 dB adds 15 HP. And for every 10dB louder the subwoofer is playing, another 15 HP are added. And lastly, wearing a spiked hairdo and leaning towards the center of the car while slouched down in your seat and holding the steering wheel at the top with your left hand adds another 75HP.

That is/was obviously total bullshit and a parady. But the sad thing is that there are waaaaaayyyyyyy too many people that genuinely believe all of those things the same way you and I adamantly believe that we are in the year 2002 or that AirCal is indeed no longer in business.

You think the ricers in the US are funny? I just came back from Japan, where they have box-shaped tiny cars(Toyota Bbx or something like that) and I saw some of these riced up. I also remembered seing a riced up Chevy Astro there. Also, some cars there like the Supra and the Skyline come with "fart cannons" as stock I think, very loud.

Not true. I own a Japanese specs '91 supra witha stock muffler and it doesn't need a muffler like that to sound nice. Anyway, I dont want anything to not allow me to hear the turbo. I love my car, and its gonna suck when I have to sell it when I move back to the states.

Nice choice of car LOT767. I own a 91 Chevy Caprice (ex cop car) with all the goodies still under the hood. It has about 191,000miles....yet it still can kick ricers butts. Nothing can compare to big american v-8 engines. 350s all the way. Big grin

For what people spend on the cars performance stuff, they could probably afford a vette or viper and still have better times then their ricers.

It is amazing on how dumb people are with what they make their cars look like.

ok, Ricers are crap, but some of the cars they drive are very fast even before ricing. Take (our previous car), the Subaru Impreza. 0-60mph in 5.0 seconds, top speed of 160mph, and the only thing that looks remotely riced is the spoiler  Smile. This thing can also hold the road better than any other car i've ever ridden in, its just awesome. For the price (£27,000), the performance can't be beaten. Although this had to make way for an Audi TT  Sad

Dan  Smokin cool

(and btw. no fart cannons or nothin, this thing sounds powerful, although you can only hear it inside..)
