Do any of you watch that show on TLC in the US?

I think it's great, it's my new favorite show.

It's a British TV show that pits two mechanically gifted teams against each other in a Junkyard. They have 10 hours to build an assigned project and then they use their creations against each other in a "skills" contest.

Last night (and every Wed in December from 8-11 EST) the teams had to build bombers. One team built an airplane and another built a dirigable.

It's a great show, watch it next Wed.

I think the show is called "Scrapheap" across the pond. Can anyone from the UK provide more info about this excellent program? The wrecking machines the teams built last night were great- they both worked! I really enjoyed the cannon-building episode from earlier this year and am looking forward to the missle launcher competition next week. BTW- did anybody else think the US team from the submarine competiton were complete jerk-offs?

Well, it's been a while since I saw Scrapheap, but it sure rocks. They show it on the Discovery Channel on saturdays if I don't remember it wrong. Did anyone see any of the episodes when they had to build a rocket or the old fashion scuba gear?

Danny

Redraider- Yeah, they did win pretty handily (lots of kicking going on though). I just wish they could have been as gracious competitors as the Brits.

I think the broadcast networks here in the US would do well to air a version of JW a la "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" It would be a hell of a lot more entertaining than "Survivor" and it's knock-offs.

I love this show. Two of my favorite episode was when they build the gliders and the bombers. The amphibious car episode was the best! I like it that all the contestants have a great sense of humor even if they loose.
