As you may know, there are monorails that connect certain hotels in the Las Vegas Strip. Would you happen to know which hotes are served by monorails? I'm trying to get a good idea of them all before I go back there.

So far this is what I know. Starting from the south end of the Strip going north...
...there is a monorail connecting Mandalay Bay, The Luxor and Excalibur
...there is a monorail connecting MGM Grand, Alladin, Paris and Bally's
...there is a monorail connecting Monte Carlo to The Bellagio (and whatever's in between)
...there is a monorail connecting Mirage and Treasure Island

That's all I've come up with so far. Are there any others that I may have missed? Or maybe I made a mistake somewhere above?

Sounds like you got 'em all Trick' . You will surely need them to get you up and down the strip during the 110+ temps.

I wish I were going but I don't do Vegas in the summer time--only fall and winter.

Have a great time.  Big thumbs up

I'm not so sure the monorail between MGM and Bally's stops at Aladdin and Paris to connect them.

We are trying to get a monorail system here in Seattle. Can't wait to see it happen.

Now they just need a monorail from McCarran airport to the Strip. Maybe it could connect to the lower Strip where Luxor, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, and such are located.

I don't think the MGM Grand monorail stops at Aladdin either. It goes to Bally's only, and deposits you at the ass-end of the building, so you have to walk past lots of tacky shops and lounges to get to the front of the building.

In general, they're nice (especially in the heat of summer) but are tedious to hike to and find. The casinos really, really want you to just stay in their own "sin dens."

Plus, there's a large gap in the "system" of monorails -- namely, between Monte Carlo and Excalibur. This can be quite a hike (doesn't look far, but sure feels like it when it's 110 degrees outside).

I love the Excalibur-Mandalay Bay Monorail: that thing is fast! Would that little tram connecting the Skyrise and the Main Casino in Circus Circus count as a monorail?

Yeah it should. I remember when they had one that connected the main casino and the manor building too. I liked that one. I liked that one where they connected the Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay together. I hated it when you had to ride to Mandalay and change to go to the Luxor. They should have both stop at all three hotels. I also liked the trams at McCarran that connects the D gates.

Yeah I remember when they used to have it in the manor before they demolished most of it to make way for the Promenade. Now you to use a bridge that cannects the Monor complex to the Skyrise casino. Yeah its kind of weird for the fact that one monorail goes to Exaclibur to Mandalay Bay and take another one from Mandalay Bay to Luxor and another Excalibur station. BIG HASSLE!!!!

I stayed at Mandalay & Luxor last month & like N751PR said, it's real confusing.

The routes were kinda stupid.
Mandalay-Excalibur, the train went to Luxor first.
Luxor-Mandalay, the train went to Excalibur first.
Excalibur-Luxor, the train went to Mandalay first.
(An attempt to make money in all three casinos?)

The other monorail went from the 2nd Excalibur station to Mandalay (as N751PR said) but didn't carry people on the return leg! Freakin' stupid...

Climbout,
I still have that feeling that I'm missing at least one or two. Big grin My original intention was to go in the Fall but I suspect I'll be busy during that time so I figured I'd just get it out of the way while I have alittle bit more time. And yes, even with the weather, there is a price to pay...

Good to hear from you.

Yes, I agree. There is also a huge monorailess gap from Treasure Island to the hotels on the north end of the Strip (like Stardust, Circus Circus, etc.) or even on the other side of the street (like Casino Royale, Desert Inn, etc.) And I personally think we could use a monorail to Stratosphere!!! Ever try hiking it all the way up there? HOT!!! I cabbed it after two blocks.

I haven't seen that one yet. I should go check it out. So I did miss one more monorail.  Big thumbs up

CcrlR,
Yeah that is a pain in the ass to switch over to get to Luxor. I never understood why they did that. Cofuse the tourists I guess.  Confused

Sadly I hate to say but the Desert Inn closed about one year ago.....  Sad

Well I have never tried hiking up to the Stratosphere but from CIrcus Circus to Paris Hotel/Casino. My mom decided to have us walk instead of taking the cab on a really hot June day. By the time we arrived in the hotel room my shirt was drenched with sweat! Well I'll be going to EWxcalibur again in less than 2 weeks and we'll be passing by Mandalay Bay and yes we'll have to take the "convenient" monorail again.
