Ey up,
Me 'n' my mate are going to Florida for 10 days on 18th August. We are going straight to Key West for a couple of days, then will be in Miami from the 23rd-28th. What I would like to know is what is there to see or do in these places. We also have 3 days in between Key West and Miami and are unsure where to go - any suggestions ??.
Also where will we find the good night life - we are str8 late 20's guys. We are staying in South Beach when we get to Miami.
Any suggestions please.....

*Visit the Dolphin Research Center on Grassy Key, about halfway to Key West. http://www.dolphins.org
*Drink. Early and often.
*Hop a fish charter out of the many marinas up and down the Keys. Even though this is a fishing mecca year round, many of the top trophy fish run in the summer.
*In Marathon,at the airport, you can ride in a genuine Czech built Albatross jet trainer. Bring coin though, pricey.
*Bahia Honda State park..on the far end of the Seven Mile Bridge from Marathon. Best beaches in the Keys.
IN KEY WEST
*Duval Street. All I need to say...you'll figure out something to do when you get there. You did mention you're straight, so most of the fun for you lies from about Fleming Street north.
*Drink.
*Take in a sunset aboard the schooner Wolf, the flagship of the Key West schooner fleet...http://www.schoonerwolf.com/
*Frisky? Shed it all on the roof of the Whistle bar at the daring Garden of Eden (don't worry it's straight! at least theoretically.)http://www.thebullandwhistle.com/eden.htm
*Visit Sunset festivities on Mallory Square. Just follow the crowds, it's a Key West rite of passage.
*Check out Fred Cabanas biplane and stuntplane rides at KW International...If I remember correctly, he's got a 1940 Stearman and a hot rod Pitts special. I'm told a sunset ride aboard one of them is amazing.
Enjoy! Too bad you weren't there a little earlier....I'll be there with some buds Aug 8 thru 11th. That's the plan, anyway. Knowing Key West, I very well may still be there when you arrive.

There's only 5 things one can do in Key West:
1) Drink/do drugs
2) Lay by a pool
3) Have sex
4) Shop at cheesy stores
5) Engage in some water-related recreational activity
There's a myriad of things to do in Miami, but I would recommend continuing whatever trend you start in Key West .
P.S. If you are really white Brits, don't walk around in shorts with dark socks and sensible shoes. You might as well wear neon signs that say "Really White British Tourists." Go to a tanning booth a couple of times before you jump the pond.

What to do in the Keys
Rent Jet Ski's
Rent Scooters
Snorkle
Watch Cubans swim ashore
Watch drug smugglers dope wash ashore, (they ditch it when the Coast Guard and DEA start chasing them)
Check out the action at Key West Naval Air Station, lots of fighters (F-14s and F-18s train there)
Drink
Bring lots of Sun Screen, the Sun is real strong down there this time of year.
In Miami,
Check out hot (topless) Cuban babes on South beach, Club hop till the Sun comes up. Repeat.

If your looking for a cool place to stay between Key West and Miami check out Key Largo, also Ft.Lauderdale is quite nice.
I highly recomend the Harbor beach Ft.Lauderdale Marriott resort, been there several times and the beach and pool of the hotel is top notch . Also lots of Brits and Europeans hang there.

TWFirst,
I know what you mean about those really white British tourists that wear shorts and socks with sandals !!. No need to worry about us tho', we got at least some street cred, and a bit of a tan already

If you like to go shopping you must go to these places in the Miami area
-Bayside (not alot of stores but it's a very nice place and you can have some very good fruit smoothies -with Bacardi ) and see some tropical animals
-Sawgrass Mills
-Dolphin Mall
-Dadeland Mall
-Aventura Mall
These I would consider the best shopping places .
