Hello,
Looking far ahead, I see that for the same price (at the moment) I could go to Rio or Istanbul for a spring break with my friends. Obvisiouly Rio has more of a spring break setting, but which would you recomend over the other. Turkey has always fascinated me, but there wouldn't be any beaches, I don't think, since it is just Istanbul. Comparing the women of the two countries, which ones are hotter, in general. Are Turkish women Middle Eastern looking (I think they are hot)? Thanks and looking foward to your opinions. I better go watch 'The View' now to calm down my heterosexual hormones.

P.S.-the airline for both is Delta. Possibly an Air France codeshare with Istanbul.

Istanbul is less run down than Rio, and has more interesting sights. It is also ludicrously cheap when you are there. The women are more Mediterranean looking as Turkey isn't an Arab country. Pretty much like Greek chicks really.
Rio has the famous Copacabana, but for me I found it a little overhyped (plus there is loads of crime). I certainly wouldn't go back.
I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

Im biased, I've always wanted to go to Rio.
Besides the Copacabana there is
The famous Sugar Loaf Mountain
The large statue of Christ The Redemeer atop Corcovado Mountain
Tijuca Forest which is inside the city
The magnificent Carnaval
Marracana Stadium
And of course the Magnificent Santos Dumont Airport
There are more and more tourist attractions in Rio than the ones I just mentioned.
My vote goes to Rio

Having been to both, my vote would be for Rio - the chance of getting mugged there are now much lower as the police are more concentrated in the tourist areas. Beaches are great along with other attractions such as Sugar Loaf (great views of Santos Dumont from here) Corcovado. Also there is a good musuem at Campo D'alfonso (Brazillian Air Force).
Istanbul has some good beaches (Marmaris) which is close to the main airport. There is also a Turkish Air Force Museum as well which has some interesting aircraft and is well laid out.

Both cities are great to visit, but I am biased, so I would say Istanbul.
Istanbul is a magic city, full of something for everybody. The people are friendly and the women are very beautiful.Their looks feature the best of East and West. The food is great, the sightseeing excellent, the shopping some of the world's finest and the tourist infrastructure has been improving steadily in the past few years. For instance, Istanbul airport is one of the finest in Europe and they have even completed a new metro.
Go to Istanbul mate, some day at least. You wont regret it.

There ARE beaches in Turkey - just fly down to Izmir. Cost about $90 or so. Well worth it...

I went to Turkey for a half day last summer on a trip to Greece and Turkey with my dad and brother and step brother and step mom. I didn't go to Istanbul though. I went to Kusadasi and Ephesus (ancient ruins of a city) and the country was amazing! It was just so different from the United States that it was facinating. If you go to Izmir though, the places I went were not far and they were great fun. Kusadasi is a tourist town I think, but still worth the visit. Enjoy either one though! I'm sure they are both great!

I'd go with Rio. Rio is arguably the most beautiful city in the world with perhaps the most impressive cityscape. Brazilian women are THE finest looking on the planet and really friendly. Plus, if you're looking to get laid, it's pretty easy there and Brazilian chicks make the best lays. Down to earth too. I would love to marry one...
Istanbul is more of a "tourist" destination. You can have fun there, but it doesn't compare to Rio. As far as women are concerned, Turkish women are like Greeks (like somebody mentioned before). I don't find them too attractive (and my mom's from Greece, but it has nothing to do with bias against Turks), especially compared to Brazilian women.
I don't know how bad crime in Rio is anymore. I have heard that it's gotten a bit worse, but I don't think it will be too, too bad if you stay in the tourist areas and keep your wits about you.
